This spot is very close to where I live, so I figured why not try it? I’m a big Asian Cuisine fan, so it really was a must to experience.
The modern ambiance is pleasant and has tables separated by a mainstream aisle. We were seated at a table with two stovetops. I wish they had more of a classic booth, as I love relaxing more comfortably, but it wasn’t the end of the world. Our server took our drink order, in which I ordered a Diet Pepsi. My girlfriend and I also shared the Kui Punch. The Diet Pepsi was smooth and the Kui Punch was excellently mixed for a true handcrafted taste. I’d explain it as a sweet and zingy drink. I recommend starting off with one.
We ordered the Combo A, which was Beef Bulgogi, Brisket, and Pork Belly. It also included an appetizer, which we chose the Fried Spring Rolls. It came with Chicken Noodle Broth Soup for both of us and also two White Rices for us both. On top of all that, they brought us quite a few small bowls of miscellaneous items such as Zucchini, a Corn Mix, Potatoes, and others.
The Fried Spring Rolls were awesome! The Appetizer came with four spring rolls and a sweet and sour-type sauce. They were even better dipped in the sauce. The Chicken Noodle Broth Soup was soothing to eat. It had a tasty broth with thin noodles. I wish it was loaded heavier noodles. The White Rice was really good! The food came out in three large plates with cooking utensils. We put the meats on the stovetop and cooked the meats ourselves! It’s a cool concept to get to cook your own food at a restaurant, even though that seems to defeat the purpose in a twisted way. The Beef Bulgogi was awesome. I really liked the texture of it, too. The Brisket was just as good! It was really fast to cooked as it was so thin. The Pork Belly was okay. I wasn’t crazy about it since it seemed to be composed of quite a bit of fat. They give a soy-type sauce and a spicy garlic-type sauce. I liked them both. The soy sauce was more of a liquid that was sweet and the spice garlic sauce grew on me after a few bites.
The service was great! Our waiter was attentive and fast! We also had a woman who cooked most of our food for us, which was very nice of her to do so. She got it all cooked fairly fast.
Overall, I’m glad I tried this place. The prices are a little steep, but the originality of this restaurant in Indiana makes up for it most of the way. I’d like to come back and try different meats...
Read moreWe decided to try a new place for my birthday dinner and get it as take out to have at home because we didn't want to deal with Friday night crowds. When my husband came back with our food, and told me how much it was, I would have expected 4 full main dishes plus sides for the price of $72. Instead, what we had was a "large" order of "brisket" (extremely thinly sliced, totally unseasoned, fatty beef that may technically have been from a brisket, but was not in the least what either of us were expecting) and sticky rice; a small appetizer of spicy (very poor quality) chicken; a small container of chicken fried rice and a larger one of combo fried rice that had chicken, beef and a total of 5 shrimp in it (I dug through and counted). He had ordered 2 large fried rice, knowing the kids would eat them and not sure how large each size was The fried rice was gummy, with large areas that weren't seasoned at all -you could see it was still white rice, and hadn't gotten the sauce on it- but the kids ate it up without picking out the peas or carrots. The brisket was supposed to have come with soup, but instead, there were 4 large leaves of lettuce in the bag that had an odd assortment of unexplained garnishes and/or sauces, only one of which was appealing to anyone, and that just to dip the brisket in. We definitely will recommend that no one goes there unless they feel like throwing away their money. Very over priced, and not at all impressed with the food. Basically ruined my birthday dinner and blew our budget to go somewhere else...
Read moreWe came here quite a few times in 2019 and a few in 2020 before COVID, we absolutely loved the food and drinks. We went agin for the first time last night and it is not what it used to be. First, the menu has changed.. you can’t do a meat mix and match, they only do that for lunch so you have to pay full price for all the meats unless you do a half serving but the half and full serving look very similar. 2nd, I understood during COVID times they stopped putting the sauce on the table but now that things are reopened Why is there no soy sauce on the table? They gave us a tiny tray of it and twice I had to ask for more it’s just soy sauce.. next was the waitress. She was kind and helpful and we didn’t have any problems with her until she brought us the raw food.. we ordered brisket, short ribs, and bulgogi. Right when she brought us the food plates She instantly poured the bulgogi onto the hot plate without saying a word or asking us which one we wanted first. We have been here before we know how to cook it so she was trying to help she is not. My boyfriend was very upset because he wanted to save that for last so now we had to eat it first. Last complaint is on the new service charge.. we would regularly leave a 20% tip but when she brought the bill she showed us that there’s an automatic 15% charge added so of course my boyfriend was not gonna leave another tip on top of that. Overall not the...
