Rick's Seafood House — Restaurant in North Wildwood

🦞🍤🍝9/17/23 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon. I'm not really sure what the mix-up was here. The gentleman who answered the phone was immediately frustrated & straight up rude when I asked the market price for a lobster tail. $47 🦞 it was $15 more than twin tails, so I opted for twin tails @$32...bc all this food for 2 people. Sometimes there's a bigger reason people ask sir. I also ordered jumbo lump crab meat $30 & steamed clams & shrimp (we got 13 deeeelicious clams)😋 for $23. Side choices for those 3 meals were 2 baked potatoes & 1 onion ring, but I called back & asked for pasta instead of my 3 sides. We were advised of an additional charge for pasta, but it seems to have cost about $15 for buttered noodles. The "sauce" was simply garlic & butter (not even sautéed) 🤮 & if i'm paying extra for a side of pasta and not an upcharge, why didn't I get my other sides? I clearly didn't pay an upgrade charge of only a few bucks either. We ordered the fried founder $23 & shrimp in a basket $14. Pre-tax for our original order would've been just under $122. Our total was $142. Taxes should've been $8? So $12 to sub out a side of pasta for 3 other sides that weren't a sub or an upcharge? Huh? If it's not a substitution or an upcharge, I should've still gotten my regular sides to throw in the trash myself, not the restaurant keep it & profit. Seems kind of grimy. UPDATE &/2024 From 1 stars back to 5 OK, looks like they addressed & fixed their problems. Food & service is now top notch. I'm back to being a regular customer again!

UPDATE &/2022 WTH happened to this place??? I'm taking my long standing 5 star review down to 1 star. This is not the same place anymore. 1). When I walk, there can be 5 people working and nobody will say Hi, how are you doing I'll be right with you. They all go out of there way not to make eye contact. was never like that. If you stand there long enough someone will say, "what can I get you, like you are bothering them. 2) The shrimp stinks sooooo bad, it smells like its rotted. This has happened now on 3 separate occasions. This is not an exaggeration. The smell is so bad I had to put the shrimp in my trunk to get back to my hotel room. Then the people next door complained to the hotel staff of the smell coming from my room which was the shrimp from Ricks. Did this place change owners??? I will never, ever order here again. I can't believe how bad this place got. You lost a 10+ year customer, get your act together, and fix whatever it making your food stink to high hell.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ricks Seafood in North Wildwood, and I must say, it was an experience I will never forget. I hadn't been to this establishment since I was a kid, but I was excited to give it another try, and boy am I glad that I did.

We had called in our order three hours ahead of time, and the food was prepared fresh and well worth the wait. As we waited for all of our food to be done (it was a big order), we were able to catch the Phillies win in the 9th inning against the Reds, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

But what truly made our evening unforgettable was the food from Ricks Seafood. From the first bite, we knew that we were in for a treat. The flavors were fresh, bold, and perfectly balanced, and every member of our family was raving about the delicious meal.

I must commend the hardworking staff at Ricks Seafood for their dedication to providing great food. It was clear that every aspect of our meal was carefully crafted with care and attention to detail.
