Finally got to tour this lighthouse. So glad we did, as it is wonderfully preserved. There are many items from the original keepers and those who followed him. There are also many other items from those long ago days. While the view from the top is not as breathtaking as nearby the Cape May Lighthouse, it's still agreat view of the inlet and surrounding Ocean. The gardens outside are great to walk through or sit and relax. You can walk out to the seawall and get some great pictures looking back at the light. Almost forgot to mention how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was! While it's free to tour a donation is much appreciated! Some nice souvenirs are available as well. Kind of hard to rate this place. It's a gorgeous Victorian style lighthouse that from the outside looks well maintained. However, who knows when its open. Apparently the operations have shifted from a group to the municipality. Multiple websites have conflicting hours of operation. When I called the number on the website the gentleman he had no idea. I'm hoping to get back one day...
Read moreAfter a few yearly visits to Wildwood I finally discovered this lighthouse. I have no idea how I missed it, but I loved my time there. The woman at the desk was extremely knowledgeable about the location and history, and she seemed to really enjoy discussing it all. The pictures and displays help paint a picture of the area and its growth that you can't get anywhere else. Behind the lighthouse is an absolutely beautiful garden with an assortment of flowers, trees, decorations, benches, and pathways. There's a walkable area to the seawall and a lovely view in all directions. It is a free visit, with donations accepted, and I highly suggest you take advantage of this...
Read morePretty lighthouse with a gorgeous garden that leads to the North Wildwood Seawall. The lighthouse was closed to visitors today, but it’s still worth the visit as the building architecture and garden are interesting and beautiful enough to make it worth your trip if visiting the Wildwoods. I have climbed the lighthouse in the past, and not being all that tall, it offered a pretty but limited view of the surrounding area. The gift shop is cute and has mostly lighthouse specific items. It was also closed today. Since the lighthouse utilizes mostly senior volunteers, COVID-19 has had a significant impact on their ability to reopen. I hope that...
