I have been staying at Champaign Island for the past seven summers, this year was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I pay for a two bedroom two bath suite that sleeps six people, when I arrived I was told that my sofa bed was broke, not only was the sofa bed broke there was not a mattress in it so my Fifth and sixth person did not have a place to sleep. Not only was the sofa bed broken we were not able to sit on it because it’s sunk in really bad due to not having the mattress. fifth and sixth person did not have a place to sleep. Not only was the sofa bed broken we were not able to sit on it because it’s sunk in really bad due to not having the mattress. In One bathroom the toilet would not flush properly so we needed to plunge it after every use there was sand left in the shower stall from the guests before me. The dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes that I had to wash by hand and clean out because the water was stagnant, the dishwasher did not work the stove was dirty, the coffee pot was dirty, still had old coffee grinds from the prior guests. There was black mold coming out of all the air vents in the entire suite. I had to sleep with the sliding glass doors open so I could have air circulating because I was afraid do use the air conditioning unit. Due to Covid the restrictions at the pool were not followed it was well beyond capacity. Wildwood officials actually came up and spoke with management about it. None of the staff wore any protection such as facemask etc. I tried getting someone at the front desk, no one was available. My last day there, we had severe rain and storms the rain was coming in through the sliding glass door in the living room flooding it out I had to consistently clean that up using allMy towels, I was unable to reach anyone at the front desk to come up and help me I could not leave the unit because it was flooded out in front of my doorway. All of the outdoor furniture was piled in the hallway outside of my room making it very difficult to Take my personal belongings down at check out. I actually put my arm on the table because it was upside down and unprotected. I am still waiting for someone to get back with me from Champaign island because I am requesting a refund. I posted just a portion of the pictures I took because you could only...
Read moreThere is a front desk with minimal help from staff. Sometimes you won't even find anyone at the desk to give you a hand. When we checked in we had to go to the bar located in the same building called Flip Flops to retrieve our key. Even though Champagne Island and Flip Flops are unrelated. You need to get wristbands for the pool. We stayed in room advertised for 6 we were giving 5 wristbands for the whole week. When we asked for more we were asked by the minimalist front desk, why did you take them off. So if your coming here, be prepared to wear a plastic wristband for the week. Regardless they did give us more. Be prepared for noise from the downstairs bars on the weekend, and be prepared for the occasional drunk loud mouth. It is what it is around that area of North Wildwood. The pool is nice with a great view of the ocean/inlet. There is a bar next to the pool with waitresses that our very helpful. The inlet beach is across the street, but the main beach with better surf is still about a 20min walk or 5min drive. Room was overall nice and clean. However it advertised that the room slept 6 but there is only a love seat couch in the living room all others will have to sit at the kitchen table or the breakfast bar. Advertised a private deck, was anything but. 3 room walk out to an open deck. We had to ask for our table back from other renters who had taken our tables and chairs. The other renters can easily and accidentally look into where you are staying. Not private whatsoever. We stayed on the 3rd floor with the sundeck, and the lights on the sundeck do not turn off, so if you have guests using the pull out couch, it will not get dark for them. This place could be great, but it is sub par. Still could be a lot...
Read moreStay away from this hotel. Disgusting. Let’s start with the chain lock broken, molded shower curtain with a dirty wash rag hanging on the rod, holes in bath towels, mold all over bed with hair and stains on bed, and either blood or something disgusting on the kitchen towel that was in the counter top. Now when we arrived after 3 on Monday we drop our bags went to beach came back got dress and went to eat there was a 2 hour wait so we didn’t get home till after 10. My husband went into the bedroom and said we are out of here. Because there is no one at the hotel we were told if you have any problems to see the manager at flip flops. My husband showed him the pictures and he told my husband no way would he stay in the room. My husband told him we were going to sleep In the truck since it was close to 11 and we could not find anything open. So we slept in the truck if you call it sleeping around 7 we went to get something to eat. When we got back to the hotel the cleaning lady was given the keys to the room. She said Kelly would call. No call so my husband called her on Wednesday and she said she sent the cleaning crew up there but everything was perfect. And because we left early we would not get a refund. I then called and of course she did not answer so I preceded to leave her a message to let her know we have pictures and that I was leaving a message on TripAdvisor. I am 62 years old and have traveled all over and never have I stayed in such A run down hotel. Stay away with...
