What little food I had was excellent. Indoor staff was very pleasant. Band was very good, although they could possibly have turned the volume down maybe, just a notch or two to better able to be understood. :)
My issue was with the outdoor staff, allowing people to go inside, monitoring those exiting. First, let it be known that I was not really drinking inside; so, none of this was alcohol related.
As I was leaving, my right heel just happened to catch on that last step (which is only, perhaps, about 4-6 inches high but, there is no handrail, at least, not on the lefthand side, as one is leaving, on that final step).
When that occurred, of course, down I went, VERY HARD... onto both of my hands and both of my knees. I was in so much pain that I could not move &I was in tears.
But, did either one of those muscle bound men get up off their buns to come over to help me? Heck NO!!
As a matter of fact, I guess in response to someone else, I heard one of them say "Oh! Don't worry! She's just fine!" And, I cannot say for certain but, it sounded as if he were laughing!
My daughter and her bf, who were a good bit ahead of me (possibly, already at the corner?) ran back to assist me by picking up everything that had fallen out of my purse and helping me up. Those two men? STILL sitting in their chairs... no expressions of concerns, nothing.
Well, guess what folks? I HAVE: •2 very scraped up, black, blue, & very swollen knees. •A sprained ankle, now in a splint (the one whose heel caught on the step).
IN ADDITION, I ALSO HAVE: •One sprained hand. (Couldn't wrap it or, I wouldn't be able to function because, I also have...) •One broken, now casted hand. (That three hour drive home, before it was casted, that was NO picnic, let me tell you.)
But oh, yeah... I'm "just fine". Well, No. I do not think so, gentlemen.
And you big, strong men didn't move a muscle... You just sat there, smiling... watching, then chatting, ignoring me completely (as I sat there, injured, bleeding, crying).
I just do NOT understand that. I raised FOUR sons. One is even now a Marine. And, no. I'm not saying that they're perfect.
BUT, I can guarantee you that, even knowing that they did NOT work at a place, if they were right nearby when or if they saw someone, stranger or not, fall the way that I did, they WOULD go over and immediately HELP them, no questions asked and without anyone needing to urge them to do so. Why? Because they KNOW that it is the right thing to do. (They wouldn't stay forever but, they'd help them up, make certain that they were okay, etc.)
And... Making certain that all is well with the Inlet's customers, be they entering or exiting, that IS YOUR JOB, GENTLEMEN.
Your job. And, you FAILED.
Miserably!!
And, as adults, you should, most DEFINITELY, have KNOWN better!!
I just do not understand how at least ONE of you did not spring into action to assist me.
Is that how you would treat EVERYONE in that situation? (Or, if I had been single, young, pretty, blonde, would you have hightailed it on over?)
You should have IMMEDIATELY sprung into action... NOT just let me sitting there on the ground, head down, in pain and tears, temporarily unable to move.
Yeah... well, we'll see how 'just fine' I am, gentlemen. We'll see.
You have a nice day now.
(I should attach my injury photos to this post... they aren't very pretty,...
Read moreI spent an evening at The Inlet recently and I left underwhelmed to say the least. The view while staying under cover is second to none in the area. I love sitting on the upper deck and watching the waves crash into the bay/ocean area. It's really comforting and relaxing. There are plenty of TVs to watch the games.
My issue last time around was that the bartender at my end was inattentive and for a bartender extremely quiet. Bartenders in general should be personable as they are the front line for the bar/restaurant and they should make you feel welcome and should check in on you periodically. I was barely greeted, had to ask for a menu and then sat for over 30 mins without being checked in on again. There were no more than 20 people upstairs at the time and I only got a second drink after another bartender was checking stock nearby and saw my empty drink and curiously asked "are you being taken care of?". Beyond that the food was way too fast in coming out, yes too fast and of course the taste matched the quickness of the order. It was awful. I ordered burgers and when I tell you that they came out in under 5 mins I'm not kidding which means on a slower part of the night my burgers weren't even cooked to order and they tasted that way as well. That's disappointing. Over $20 with tip to leave dissatisfied with the meal.
Would I go back? Yeah. The view and open air feeling are unmatched. Would I consider eating elsewhere before or after?...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, and I often visit The Inlet, more so for drinking but we decided to have dinner here and I know it is a more casual experience so a lack in steps of service doesn’t bother me too much. What bothered me was the actual service we received. Our server Madison J did not smile NOT one time on the few occasions that she did check on our table. Zero personality, seemed as if she didn’t care at ALL. I understand it’s a fast paced environment but as someone in restaurant/ club management my whole life, hospitality and service should never lack! Also we ordered 2 chili salmon entrees. One came out as a salmon salad. We addressed the server and she said sorry I’ll get the other entree right out. We waited about 35-40 minutes for the new entree to come out, we were with a group of 8, everyone was done eating and had boxes, we had to keep asking for the entree. She said she would take it off the bill which never happened. Our one guest who got the salmon didn’t get to eat with us just boxed their meal because we were ready to leave by the time it came out. The fact that a manager never came over to address the situation was also shocking to me! The actual food was good, entertainment was good but the service was...
