Pavilion Restaurant — Restaurant in Northfield Township

this is not a review based on the food or our server, this a review for the managers who work the floor who should be here supporting their team.

here is my problem, we are a group of 4 on a wednesday; so slower on a weekday and dont expect a lot of traffic. our server tonight did her best but was frazeled when asked very basic questions regarding either the regular menu or the beverage menu, this tells me she was and is not trained properly. what prompts this is she couldn't even fulfill basic cocktail orders because she didn't know what to do. when asked where extra help was or even where the manager was she said they were off and unavailable; that is unacceptable as a fellow manager. I understand having days off I get that believe me I do, but when you are unresponsive and don't come in to assist your team especially when you know they are understaffed because two people called off and the only person here is a new hire!

now shout out to the executive chef, at least they are here doing their part! the food here...

We went on a Friday night at 630 and there was two other tables occupied and a party next door. When we arrived, Oleg took 5 minutes to greet us at the door and then promptly seated us and brought menus. 10 minutes later he took our order and when we asked questions about the menu he seemed more annoyed than helpful.

We enjoyed half of the items but you NEVER serve raw chicken. The mushroom soup is creamy and has a good taste and texture. The salad dressing for the house salad was also tasty.

The issue was we ordered 2 chicken kievs and half of them came out raw. We pointed this out to Oleg who seemed annoyed and took them back to the kitchen. He brought them back out and they had been cooked through. We found the spices very heavy and no butter in them. It was like eating plain chicken.

We also ordered Chicken Marsalla that had a good sauce and was properly cooked.

The food was really good, but the service was one of the worst I’ve ever came across. The server did not know the food or the drink menu. I was there with my girlfriend, and the server only brought one menu out. No one has brought napkins, or refilled our water, or even came up to check on anything. They messed up our order. And at the end when we requested a check (because no one came up to our table for a very extensive period of time) despite us being the only group of people there and three of the servers working, no one would pick up the check.
