Bahn Thai & M — Restaurant in Northfield

I was so excited to hear there was a new Thai restaurant in Thai Cafes location! We went on a Friday night and we were sat right away. We got there at 6:25 and ended up leaving at almost 7 p.m. after not being waited on. Even getting waters would have been fine as we know everyone is short staffed and busy. We don’t mind waiting, but 35 minutes with no one even coming to take our drink order is a little ridiculous especially when one waiter bussed several tables during that time. As a dedicated customer of the Thai Cafe that was originally at this location, I was devastated when they closed and was convinced that there was no way that any restaurant could compare. Months went by and I finally decided I would try the new Bahn Thai & M. While the original Thai Cafe will always have a special place in my heart, I could not be more pleased with the new owners/restaurant. It has become my go-to spot for takeout (my week is not complete unless I get my order of tofu pad thai) and the service and food have both always been AMAZING. Happy to have a good Thai place open up. Red curry entree and the shrimp soup were very good.

However, they struggled with “flow” issues — ordered soup and then intentionally waited another 15min before ordering entrees to allow for spacing. The soup and entree arrived at the same time. The table next to us had one person’s entree come out 10-15min before the next person’s came out. Other tables had appetizers coming out after the main entree. This was on a Friday night around 6PM.

The food was good. So, we’ll be back for a second try. Hope the management staffs accordingly and gets the kitchen flow issues corrected. Will be difficult to go back a third time if the flow...
