Update! Goodwill this has gotten out of hand! Please see pictures. Goodwill needs to come down off their high horse! This is getting ridiculous. Over $200 each for these little bitty tables. I don’t care where they originally came from, they are USED!!! Plus looks like the employees/ management need to stay off their phones and computers and work instead of looking every little thing up on the internet to see what it’s worth. This is supposed to be a “THRIFT” store not antique or consignment store. ATTENTION GOODWILL YOU ARE NOT AN ANTIQUE STORE NOR A CONSIGNMENT STORE SO STOP TRYING TO BE. Make goodwill a thrift store again! This is awful and goodwill should be ashamed of themselves. And stop asking me to round up especially after I’ve paid for overpriced stuff that is free to you! So rude! I don’t care what lies/ “mission” speech you make your cashiers say, I know that extra round up goes in the pockets of the big dogs. I used to work for goodwill before it went absolutely corrupt! Also know for a fact the managers take home items after hours! I’ve witnessed it so many times. 🤷🏼‍♀️ the managers used to do this when I worked for goodwill they would price things so high so they wouldn’t sell and after a week or sometimes less they’d take them to the back to be “repriced” but they would never make it back to the floor instead they would take the items home. So sad I’m 100% sure this still happens. I know they have “cameras” but the managers have control over the tapes. 👀

Let me begin by saying that this store is my secret obsession. I find really good quality items for such a low price. I live in Southern Indiana so I don’t get to visit the store as often as I would like so last night I happened to be in the vicinity and my husband was hoping to find 1 particular thing. We were aware that the store closed at 9 and at the time we stopped it would only allow us approximately 20 min to shop. Walking in the doors there was a gentleman standing a few feet from the entrance and very sternly advised the store is closing for the night. I explained my husband wanted to check for 1 thing and we should not be any longer than 10 min. The young lady behind the counter was very agitated with the fact that people were still coming into the store and was cussing, complaining, and being very obvious that she was not happy. After I spoke to the gentleman she very loudly yells we are closed. Again we explain that we should not be but a few mins because we were looking for 1 item, still vacating before closing time at 9. The lady went on to talk indirectly to me about how they (I’m guessing management) need to stop this sht from happening, she is sick of this sht, people need to know the store closes at 9 and they can’t just come walking in there 1” mins before close, I’m about to lock at these mother f*ckers out (proceeds to go lock the doors and it was 8:50 according to my watch), Chris (who I was guessing was the manager) needs to hear about this and put a stop to it. I was so uncomfortable I sat it a chair by the front door not daring to look at a single item and waited for my husband. I chatted with a lady that was scolded as she came through the doors and we laughed a little as she went about her way not wanting to waste any time. Out of nowhere the raging lady behind the counter yells in my direction, “Can I help you”? I looked around to make sure she was talking to me and no one else was in the area so it was me she was talking to. I told her that I was just waiting on my husband and she snaps her neck and says again, “But can I help you”? I’m confused and tell her once again I’m just waiting on my husband. “I was just wanting to know if I could help you because you keep staring like you got a problem, so what’s the deal, why you keep staring this way”? I’m beside myself and utterly confused. I tell her I have not been doing any such thing. I guess maybe I did State a bit out of disbelief as to the way she was acting when I walked in but in no way was I being confrontational or obviously staring because quite frankly she was being very intimidating. I guess my answer was not convincing enough because she picked up the phone and through the whole store she announced she needed a manager to the front immediately. A guy came to the register and she did not mention a thing to him about what just took place between us and I certainly was not going to walk up and speak with him as she is standing right there. I figure out the manager that came to the register as requested by the crazed worker was Chris. He kept explaining that the store closed at 9 and they had to allow customers in the store until that time. Unfortunately they were not allowed to lock doors or tell people they were closed before the time of 9oclock. I’m wondering to myself why in the world he was not addressing the behavior of the employees and getting their mouths under control because it was loud and clear how they were feeling at that moment and what they thought if every last person in the store. The manager failed by allowing it to continue and in front of customers. If they wanted to have the conversation about what the rules were and how the procedures of closing the store are, the conversation should have moved away from customers. I was so confused, mad, and it really weighed heavy on me. Currently in the world around us there is enough negativity that is out of our control, there is no need to create more. Maybe this can be chalked up to a few people having a bad night and hopefully won’t continue. Completely...

I frequently donate items AND shop here. My tween/teen daughters and their friends like to look for unique new to them items and find vintage styles that are once again popular. When my mother comes to visit from Illinois, she and I have a ball picking around. I really don't think the people who complain about Goodwill's prices or employees or requests to round up donations understand its mission. First of all, no one is "profiting" as it is a registered 501c3 nonprofit charitable mission organization with reliable Form 990 filings and audits, and charitable standards benchmark ratings, i.e., majority of the revenue raised goes into mission programming not overhead. A main purpose is to help train people who may not otherwise have job opportunities, due to lack of education, special needs or intellectual disabilities, prior convictions, or otherwise down on their luck, for example. Some of those people may lack the benefit of more privileged upbringing and cultural assimilation, and it may take them extensive time and difficulties to learn how to function at the level we would expect from Amazon, Target, Macy's, etc. Our donations help them earn a fair wage with reasonable supportive benefits, and learn, while doing the unsavory work of sorting through the heaps of discarded items dumped off on a daily basis, often with flaws and unclean--that some of the most privilege-blinded of us believe everyone else should be lucky and ecstatic to have --or dealing with rude, entitled customers. At any rate, I have found this particular thrift outlet location to have at least one thing on every visit that I need and can use or that brings me joy, while keeping items out of landfills or from being burned, and while helping less fortunate workers support themselves and their families. There are bad apples at every level of society and in every organization. Please don't judge an entire wonderful program or location because of a few employees or unrealistic...
