What a pleasant little cafe!
The Havana cappuccino has condensed milk in it. The sweetness of the different milks work very well with the bitter espresso. The espresso wasn't burned or too dark. It was an excellent fall beverage, especially with a flaky, warm, nutty, maple croissant.
Smoothie flavors can be combined to make new creations. The strawberry banana smoothie is creamy, not watery, and very smooth.
The person at the counter today was very informative, attentive, and polite. Inside, the cafe had a modern atmosphere with plenty of bar seating at the window - sadly not much of a view - and bench seating against the wall.
The pastry variety was excellent. It was hard to choose! Cafe Bru is worth another trip.
Update, 5/21/25: This is my go-to cafe of choice between EHT, Linwood, Northfield, Somers Point, and Mays Landing. The staff is always great. The food and drinks are consistent every time. On special days, my partner and I head to Cafe Bru for a warmed guava cheese braid, strawberry-banana smoothie, and Havana cappuccino, and we know when our day starts like that, it's going to...
Read moreWhile traveling through the area, I stumbled upon Cafe Bru and decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the Havana Cappuccino (made with condensed milk) and a Caramel Macchiato, along with a Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish, the Chocolate Master, and a Hazelnut Croissant.
The pastries were offered warmed up, and I happily said yes—definitely the best decision. They came out perfectly soft, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. The Havana Cappuccino was rich and comforting, and while I found the Caramel Macchiato a bit lighter in coffee flavor and sweetness than I prefer, it was still enjoyable.
What really made the experience stand out was the kindness of the staff—they were genuinely warm and welcoming. This place left such a good impression on me that I’m already planning to return tomorrow before continuing my travels. A charming stop that’s worth adding to...
Read moreCafe Bru is hands down my favorite cafe. The atmosphere is very relaxing and great for catching up with friends or loved ones. The ingredients are a healthier option without added preservatives and the coffee is organic. I see some college students doing their work there as well almost every time I dine in. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. My 4 year old daughter is already such an entertainer and she was dancing/singing around while eating her delicious chocolate chip cookie . That’s when you know my daughter felt at home! They treated her like a princess and my little one asked to come back when we were barely out the door. This wonderful cafe is highly recommended because (Cafe Bru) Ma and Pa businesses are so much better than Dunkin, Starbucks and any other processed, greedy...
