I have been to surroundings three times now . Every time it is the same experience . Bad!!! Having been in retail my entire life I am an expert on good customer service and bad service . So this is a high end furniture store that caters to people from all over the area including people who may live on the beach in Ocean City , and when you live at the beach you tend to wear tshirts shorts and flip flops even when you go to a fancy furniture store . Well three times now I visited the store over a two year period and every time same thing the sales reps sat at their desk and ignored me . Today I walked in , rep number one no hello , drop dead or anything , rep # 2 a little better excused herself when she accidentally bumped into me , but still did not ask if I needed help . Finally rep # 3 sitting at a desk again by herself like the other two associates ignored me and my wife even though we were right in front of her showing a great deal of interest in an expensive entertainment center . So giving her the benefit of the doubt I approached her and asked if they deliver to our home town . She looked up and said they do have delivery people and then put her head back down and looked backed at her computer . Now I am sure 100% sure they believed we were in the wrong store based on the way we dressed . After three different times in the store with the same treatment every time I would have to assume they employ the worst salespeople on the planet or they need to realize that every customer should be treated with respect and made to feel comfortable . Your in egg harbor township for god sales not Rodeo Drive Beverly Hills where snobbery is more expected . For those of you that are looking for high end furniture do yourself a favor buy it from nice people not Surroundings . My husband and I had been looking for a piece for our TV to replace an older, outdated and too small cabinet. When we walked into Surroundings, we were warmly welcomed by Stewart who graciously began showing us what the store had to offer. We were delighted to have found this place, as it has beautiful pieces, many of which are made in the USA. The displays are gorgeous, the furniture of excellent quality and the assistance that Stewart offered was invaluable. His knowledge of the product lines was impressive. Not only did we find and purchase the BDI cabinet for our TV, we also bought two more pieces that were the perfect solutions for our home. One of the best deliveries we have ever received. Our beautiful new couch was delivered on time by two great guys who scoped out our home before coming in. They hoisted the enormously heavy couch over their heads to avoid damaging our porch stair railings, flipped the couch with seeming ease to fit it through our front door, and placed it just where we wanted it. They discussed care of the couch with us and then before leaving, they completely polished it clean with a leather cleaner they’d brought along with them, even though it really didn’t need it....
