Long time customer but recently had a very bad experience. Picked up $80 order and when I got home & unpacked the bags, there was a sub missing. When I called to inform them I was told they could deliver the sub and it would take 40 minutes. I live 4.2 miles from the store and it is a 10 minute trip, one way. I opted to pick up the missing sub. When I got there all I got was a "we're sorry, here's a hot sub for you". That's great, but all of the other food was now cold. When I got home and we unwrapped the food, one of the subs which was ordered with extra cheese had no cheese. Again, I called Atlantic City Sub Shop and asked them to read back my order. The order did, in fact, have this sub marked as having cheese. I again got an "I'm sorry, but we have new people and I'm the only one training them and I'm only one person, and ..." Well, this is not my problem. They are a business who asked me what I wanted, asked me how I wanted it, charged me full price and didn't produce. The person with all of the excuses on the other end of the phone, said she will have the sub re-made and she will personally deliver it to me. I accepted this offer, hung up and waited, and waited, and waited. I waited for 35 minutes for the sub. A delivery guy ( not the woman I spoke with at the store) came to my door with the sub and when I asked him what took so long to make a sub and drive 4.2 miles down the road, he replied that I was not the only person he had deliveries for and what made me so F*ing special. He then stood on my front lawn and said that if he didn't have to get back to work he and I would be mixing it up in the street right now. I told him that he obviously was not made aware of the promise by the woman at the store to personally deliver the sub right away, and his reply was that she left for the day. That was my experience with Atlantic City Sub...
Read moreLet me start by saying that while here in South Jersey you can't swing a cat without hitting a sub shop we chose Atlantic City Sub Shop from those with similar ratings because the owner replies to every review and that tells a lot about how much they care about their business. Now to the food ... we both ordered cheese steak hoagies and they were excellent. The bread was the crusty bread with great chew that the best South Jersey shops use. Plenty of meat and not too much juice running out of the roll. A "half" is about 10inches and plenty for either of us. They have a wide array of hot and cold subs. They all begin at a price well below many other places. Lettuce, tomato, peppers and raw or cooked onions are included. You have lots of other extras you can add but you will pay extra for them. You order at the counter and a waitress brings the food to your table. Our waitress was very very nice! They do take out as well. Now to the reasons I'm only giving a 4star today. First we ordered onion rings but got curly fries ... now the fries were yum but we didn't get to taste the rings. Also, the frowny grumpy cook in the open kitchen didn't make me feel like I was going to enjoy my lunch as much as I did. Be SURE I'm...
Read moreSo between the first time having a problem and then the second one hearing from my parents today, I’m not too happy with this place. First of all, I’ve been going there since 2012 and the subs used to be packed. Whether it be a cheesesteak, Italian, etc. The subs I’ve seen the past couple times have been skimp. Yes, the flavor is great, but too short your customers isn’t as good. The last time I’ve went there my girlfriend & I dealt with a very rude waitress to which we had no part to play in as we just had got in there. The manager was accommodating for what it’s worth but I’ve heard my parents had a similar experience today. Not to mention to pay $4 for a “regular” size of fries and then receive a very light amount for that price. I think this place needs to be on top of their game a bit better because that’s definitely...
