El Tequila Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Northfield

I'm not sure what everyone's complaints are on here. I've had a great experience every time I've come in. I usually pick up an order I placed online for my family. But the last two times I've stopped in it was for just me and my husband. The lady who greeted me was super friendly. She spoke very little English but that was totally fine. 😊 She was still respectful. There was a slight mix-up with my order the last time I swing in, before today. She grabbed someone else's order instead of mine! I didn't do anything at first, because there's usually two boxes for our family to split. It was just as much my fault as hers because I never checked the recipe that came with the food, or the name on the order. She made a simple mistake and I hold no grudge over that tiny incident that happened. I come here a lot, and never had any issues prior to this. She had apologized multiple times for it the same night, which was very nice! But accidents do happen! We're only human after all. The food we had the past two visits was FRESH, HOT, and even the guacamole was fresh! I usually hate beans and rice, especially guacamole. But I ate the dish no problem! Only complaint I have about my entire experience was the chips that come with the meal aren't very salty. But again to each their own. I just added salt when I got home. No big deal. I would highly suggest the cheese and onion enchiladas! Side note, I also absolutely love the Shirley temples!! When I came in today, she saw me, recognized me and apologized for last time. They even gave me plastic forks which was so helpful! I wish we could get more chips and the Sala that comes with each meal! But the atmosphere is nice! It's always clean when I swing by. Friendly staff. Definitely coming...

This place has delicious food, but they can't ever get an order correct. We used to order multiple times a week, now, we order once a month. It doesn't matter if we order one item or 10, there is at least one meal that is incorrect. Unfortunately, most of the time, it's the meal sobfor my son with allergies. Sometimes, I need to return the same meal, multiple times in one order. These folks need to get their stuff in order... Right now, I highly recommend you stay away from them, until they make changes...hope this helps others

Update: got replacement food and it's still not right...ordered las mexicanas, 1 red, 1 green, 1 white....looks like I get 1 red, 1 green, and 1 not topped (should be topped with white sauce)... The middle one has nothing, not even cheese on it...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT HIW TO TAKE AN ORDER AND SERVE...

I am From the cities so I can understand why people who have been here and haven't tried another city or even have never set foot out of Northfield would agree that this was great. I added on rice and beans and barely saw the rice or the beans...baby portion. I ordered the quesadilla combo. They gave me a Small scoop of every condiment and dressing that came with it. I had to eat two pieces, dry. The food was good but a bit salty. I paid over 20 dollars for a scoop of food. The people were very nice. The atmosphere was ok. Never going back again. For 20 dollars, in the cities at a restaurant like this one, I could feed two people and still have left overs. This place, I'm lucky if I get full. I scraped the dang plate trying to get a full taste and could barely do that🤣. I'm 124lbs and I stand at 5'4. It doesn't take much to fill me....
