Chop Suey Inn — Restaurant in Northwoods

I’ve been patronizing this place for years so to be insulted today was hurtful. I always over-looked their “CASH ONLY” policy which is an inconvenience at times such as today. I didn’t feel like going to the bank or paying an ATM fee so I dug in my arm rest for stray moneys that I throw in there…and because they said the bill looked old, they would not accept it. They even marked it with the marker and held it up to the light and saw it was real and STILL insulted me saying we see it’s real we just don’t want to accept it because it’s look old…I then went right next door and swapped the bill with NOOO problem. Chop Suey Inn “claim” the bank wouldn’t accept it, which is a lie…the bill was in great condition with no rips or tears…just dusty from smoke ashes. But, we all know your moneys isn’t going to any type bank to be kept track of…that’s why your establishment does “CASH ONLY”…to evade taxes. No one is stupid…I will no longer be back and hope they provide better service for the future customers because WE the Customers pay your bills and deserve to be treated...

The customer service was fine. I called in my order and the lady was pleasant, and answered any questions that I had. The chicken fried rice was ok. The place is outdated, but it was clean. My issue was with Hot Braised Chicken platter. The chicken was over cooked, and not edible. It was extremely hard. Also, it didn’t look like the Hot Braised chicken that I’m use to. The chicken was cut into different sizes which was weird. It was disappointing since that was the main reason I went there was for the Hot Braised Chicken. The fried rice that came with it was too...

At first I wasn’t going to order because of the “cash only” but I decided; I haven’t had Chinese rice in a longtime because lately; it hasn’t been to my liking. So something kept telling me to girl, gone to the atm and gets some cash..I must have really wanted some rice and I’ve never had Chop Suey Inn…so I did. The only issue I have with this franchise is….They are not OPEN EVERYDAY. I think when I call my order in now; they see my face😀😀😀....
