Don's Teriyaki Grill — Restaurant in Norwalk

I attempted to order online today at about 645pm and by 7pm I received a notice my online order was canceled due to the restaurant being out of chicken. I had already arrived at the location when I received the notice and shortly after received a phone call from the restaurant stating they did have chicken but it would take about 25-30mins to cook. I had already waited about 20 mins from the time I ordered to the time I arrived to the restaurant where the order could have been prepared. When I arrived to the front of the restaurant I saw two guys standing behind the register on their phones. Mind you the location doesn't close until 8pm so I didn't understand why there was no chicken prepared. I was told by the gentleman on the phone that they could still make my order but it would now take an extra 25-30 mins for my order two be ready. I respectfully told the person on the phone that I would not be going through with the order.

I really enjoy coming here for the food but the customer service in the evening time is always poor. Its like the closer it gets to closing time the less work they want to do. Thats just my personal opinion. Hopefully this can be addressed. A si.ple phone call letting me know about the wait time when the order was placed would've been ideal.

Maybe the online ordering should not be an option if the guys who work in the evening find it hard to make...

This place has improved considerably since they first opened, at least I think so. The protein is always tasty and seems to be cooked to order. The rice is always nice and soft, the sauce is good, and they offer some tasty and spicy peppers if you like them. Potato salad is still a bit lacking but the mac salad is pretty great. Good prices too. Just don't expect a quick meal. Came here on a 30 minute break and my food took about 20 minutes to come out, I had to inhale it to try to get back to work on time and was still a few minutes late. There were a few other people in there at the same time as me, but I guess I was hoping they could prepare more than one meal at a time. Once I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the young man at the register. There was a slight wait so I sat down at one of the tables. Everything was tidy and clean….The decor didn’t speak to anything specific. I did appreciate, however, that my food was cooked to order so when I received it, it was hot.

Onto the food …. Now I’m a huge fan of Beef Bulgogi and this one did not disappoint!!! The macaroni salad was not my favorite and the potato salad was completely bland and lacked texture. With all that being said, I would still go back just for the beef Bulgogi because it was just that good. The beef was seasoned and tender. I have nothing to complain about...
