Kung Pao Bowl — Restaurant in Norwalk

12/16/2023. Came back 4 years later and guess what? Nothing has changed. STILL HORRIBLE SERVICE!

The two ladies running the front are rude. This is a seat down restaurant and not even two bites into our dinner and they were already asking us to pay. In order to try to enjoy our food, I paid right away. The waitress stood right over our shoulder the entire time and she kept taking our plates without asking if we were done eating.

After such horrible experince they demanded a tip. I explained to them why I didn't tip and they got angry and follow us spraying some water as we left.

The place was empty when we arrived and if they continue treating customers like this they will loose the few customers they have left.

I know I won't go back.

Ps. I am a believer on tipping, many people depend on tips to make ends meet. However, tips and not mandatory and must be earned. If, I receive good service I am generous and will tip even for to go orders.

Food was delicious but the older lady kept coming to our table and looking over our shoulder. I don't know if they have a issue with people leaving without paying but even after we gave them our card and paid for our dinner she kept coming over to our table to the point I had to tell her to please let us eat our dinner in peace. That one lonely star is solely for the food. The service really deserves zero. I have been in there multiple times now with different people and they have taken forever to take our order. I will specify this as generally as I can when I say "he". Everyone who has been there knows there's only one male waiter. My friend asked if he was going to help us and he honest to God said, "Up to you." Excuse me? My friend made another comment about why he was acting like this. He pointed to me and said, "She knows why." Now, I tip for what I feel like you've earned. You take care of me, I take care of you. I don't do handouts. When I get service like this, is this what I'm paying for?! Hell no, so I leave nothing. Him and a couple of the waitresses are looking for handouts and I don't play that game. I will never be going back here, and I will be telling all my friends to boycott this place. Even after my friend explained that this was her first time there, she got all the service. It was a quick lunch time stop for me. The hostess was pleasant and got me seated right away. The place was busy, but I still got lucky and managed to get a booth. The server was quick and attentive. I chuckled to myself as I saw two older grandma types working in the restaurant and moving around at speeds I'd never imagined I'd see grandmother types moving at. Man, they are moving! My order was taken quickly, and the food got there within 5 minutes, wow. They weren't playing today. When I tasted my orders, Kung Pao chicken bowl and pan fried dumplings, everything was good. The flavor and textures were good, and the preparation was right. The only thing I wanted that they didn't have right then was some sweet chilli sauce. But, I managed to get some of the sweet and sour sauce and mix the chilli sauce they had on the table into it and was satisfied. Before I left I received happy good byes from the grandmas which made me smile and left a very pleasant feeling on my feels. Everyone needs grandma.
