Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Norwood

----- Updated Review 05/23/2025 ----- After my last experience I wrote off Jimmy John's, however my wife still held out hope and would occasionally order something for herself. Despite having multiple issues with orders, she would persevere and return to Jimmy John's delivery (maybe it is something they put in the bread?)

Last night however put the final nail in that coffin. She placed a delivery order at 4:51 pm for her & our daughter. At 6:30 pm, nothing had been delivered and multiple phone calls to Jimmy John's went unanswered, so she drove to the Jimmy John's in person (with 4 yr old daughter in tow) to cancel the order. After waiting in the line for an additional 15 minutes she finally got someone to cancel & refund the order almost exactly 2 hours after it was placed.

They got McDonalds, I would heartily recommend you do the same.

Again, we do not blame the individual line employees, I still think the issue is with the management of this chain & employee retention. The new employee working the register was shocked that my wife had waited two hours to cancel the order & was very helpful. The manager's forced cluelessness was less excusable though ("Must have been a problem with our IT department"... right....)

------ Original Review from summer of 2024 ----- I don't want to judge a company or a location based on a single interaction, and today is the second time this Jimmy John's location has let me down.

The first time was in the evening after we got the kiddos to bed at 8 pm and we were excited to see that this JJ location was open to 9 pm, and was accepting delivery orders. We placed our order, and waited... And waited.... And waited...

45 minutes later we got a phone call saying that the location was closing and it was too late to send out delivery orders, so they were refunding our order.

Ok, so, it was late, maybe they got swamped right before close, maybe the delivery driver wasn't available. We would give them another shot another time. I was a bit aggravated they waited so long to decide to cancel our order, but it was just a couple sandwhiches, and we could scrounge something up from our kitchen.

The second time it was about 12 pm on a Friday. I finished placing the order and went back to work.

At 1 pm, I realized I still hadn't gotten my food delivered, so I checked the order. IT HADN'T BEEN MADE UNTIL 12:51 PM. I consoled myself by the fact that we live relatively close to the store, so the delivery should be here any minute. So we waited.... and waited... and waited... At about 1:35 our order FINALLY arrived, dropped on my doorstep while the delivery person sprinted back to their car.

Jimmy John's "Freaky Fast" delivery ONLY took 1 HOUR and 35 MINUTES TO ARRIVE.

I verified on Google Maps, I could quite literally have walked to the store, ordered, eaten, and walked home in the amount of time it took for my order to be delivered.

My guess is the location is under staffed and the owners are just content that people keep ordering. Maybe dropping rankings will inspire them to invest a bit more in the location to improve...

I come here often as I work in the area. The store is clean. The food is what you would expect from Jimmy John’s. Decent quality added good price. My only issue with this particular store is. that almost every time the staff look like they’ve just been given some really bad news or just are having a bad day never smiling rarely greeting customers and make the customer feel like they’re doing a favor by taking their order. I’ve hesitated to write this review only because I don’t want to be judging the store from one experience. this is from more than 6+ visits to the store and consistently getting the same reception. I make an effort to let the staff know that it’s not professional and not good and give them fun and constructive feedback. And even made jokes about it, too, catch their attention, but I shouldn’t have to do that to make them smile and be welcoming. We all have lots of choices to wear to get food and this is a core issue in this neighborhood with many of the businesses but in particular this, Jimmy John’s, I hope that some changes could be made based on this feedback as I do enjoy the food, but I will be looking elsewhere if no...

I work in the area and have been stopping by this store for the last couple months. They always greet you as soon as you walk in and are quick to get your order, make your food and get you back on the road. Last week, everyone and their brother must've ordered unwiches and they were out. Someone on the line immediately went over and started prepping more, handing over the first one back to the line so they could start making my order. It did take longer than usual but I completely understood the situation and they made it right as quick as they could. I didn't think twice about it and went on with my day. When I went in today, they immediately recognized me, apologized again for the previous delay and comped my sandwich. I already enjoyed eating here but today showed me they really go above and beyond for...
