My son and I tried this place today. It’s light and airy inside with comfortable tables and chairs. There’s even a long bench with several tables that is fitted for power - USB and regular outlets. I also love that they are open into the evening. I’m a true night owl, so am never awake in the morning hours. Too often, by the time I’m up and out, bakeries are running out of their pastries and sweet things (I’m especially talking about, you, Panera). I just love that I can go out after 2 and still be able to choose from a variety of pastries and savory items. Plus, it’s open evening hours for anyone looking for a nice little dessert on their way home after dinner.
You pick a tray and a set of tongs as you come in the door, then wander the two displays to pick out your pastries. There’s also a refrigerated cake case at the front where you can choose whole cakes or by the slice. There are sweet and savory options. They will warm up your savory option on request.
We picked out a selection and shared them between us. The mochi donuts are wonderful! Very reminiscent of funnel cake in the chewy texture. They look like a ring of little balls and were very tasty. The small croissants with lemon cream and fresh strawberries was absolutely delicious and probably my favorite. Even though it looks substantial, the pastry is light and flaky (you’ll definitely want a napkin for eating) with a slight bit of chew. Very reminiscent of eating patisserie in France.
We spent over an hour there as we were brainstorming a document. We were comfortable and the ambiance was very pleasant. The shop was definitely designed for lingering. Probably the only improvement I would suggest is some sort of shade that can be dropped in the late afternoon. The full height windows face west, which means that sun comes beaming in later in the day.
Of course, I had to bring home a box of goodies for nibbling on at home. That included a slice of the blueberry cake - light, airy, with whipped cream frosting and blueberries. Definitely going on my list for special...
Read moreI went this location when it just opened and again today. Although I don't live in the area, as a Korean, I was happy to have another Korean bakery. However, I felt really really sad after today's visit. I saw several flies flying INSIDE the main glass display on the bread. The restroom was also infested lots of flies and very dirty. The tables and floors were sticky. When the parts that customers see are that dirty, who knows how clean their kitchen and baking area are?
The biggest problem was that the workers did nothing to fix those problems. There were more workers at the counter than any other bakery that I visited. They were kind, but they were mostly busy talking to each other and the manager was looking at her phone the entire time. There was only one girl amongst 4-5 people who tried to clean. I met with the owners on the opening day, and they were very nice people. I sincerely hope that they notice how serious the current condition of the store is and do something about it right away. Until then, I will not visit this location again.
I gave 5 star not because it deserved 5 stars, but because I wanted to send a message, not hurt their businness. I don't want to lose another Korean eatery...
Read moreMy pastries were absolutely adorable and the perfect size! Delicious and not overly sweet! I love the concept of picking out your own pastries and putting them on your own tray! Had an absolute blast! While my pastries were delicious, my mom unfortunately didn't enjoy hers. She got the football chocolate donut and said it had a nasty soapy after taste... Not sure what was up with that. I also got a matcha latte and it was great as well! Employees were super sweet and were all helping each other out and working together as a team! Was very happy to see this because most places the employees don't always get along 🥹🩷 Be warned that this place is EXTREMELY tiny and packed! However, everything was organized and clean! Will definitely...
