Visited during restaurant week celebrating my b'day with family. Very gracious and accommodating, (my daughter was rudely late, they would have been in the right to turn us away). With the pervasive short staffing thru out ALL businesses and services, they did very well. There was a two year old in the party and the hostess/manager went out of her way to make sure she was taken care of and happy food wise, (don't take small children - absolutely nothing to do with the restaurant itself). Here's why I didn't give it 5 stars... because it was restaurant week the chef had a large batch of couscous that had mushrooms, someone in my party is allergic to them, on a regular night that would not have been a problem, but they could not accommodate him as they would have on another night. I assume the same was done with the cream spinach because it was more like spinach dip, in fact everyone thought it was spinach dip until I pointed it out to them from the special menu, (to be fair, it did taste like a cheese dip with spinach). The salmon I ordered was just as it was supposed to be prepared, (I forgot to tell my grandson who didn't know it typically is not served well done unless you request it), the mashed potatoes were excellent! The dessert choices were flourless chocolate cake and creme brulee. I let the waiter choose for me. For whatever reason he chose the brulee, glad he did. I was the only one at the table who had it. I am one of the few people who don't like dark chocolate and the coffee flavor was heavy in the cake, I welcome the use of coffee in chocolate to enhance the flavor of the chocolate not to overpower it. The creme brulee was served with a little fruit in the corner of the dish, the pudding was smooth and flavorful, the carmelized sugar on top was lightly browned, not at all thick and over browned, ( whomever prepared it had a light and delicate hand, good job). By the time the rest of my table tasted it and fell for it, I had nothing left to enjoy after my initial taste. If you don't like the taste of tap water, I don't, ask for lemon. I did and never got it. Warmed bread in the bread basket was not an option, although there was a selection. So, bottom line, would I go back and would I recommend. The answer is yes to both. I will make a reservation for lunch in a week or two and follow up with another dinner reservation on another day. I will report back with those experiences when they happen. Oh! I noticed a sign they had posted thanking you for not arriving in gym clothes, sweats, see thru apparel, etc. I gather they want business attire, after five, casually elegant etc. That was not the attire of the majority but it did not distract. I don't know if it was intended for lunch and dinner patrons or just dinner. Just letting you know, (I didn't see anyone being...
Read moreThe waiter named Michael was actually really nice and the manager Heather seemed nice also. The scenery was very nice and me and my husband and his 7 guests all had seats in the room off away from the other customers. We appreciated the privacy and was anticipating how good our food would be. I had heard the food was really good and the service. So far it was true. The appetizer that my husband ordered was some garlic shrimp fried in garlic in a cast iron skillet. He said it didn’t have any flavor at all and his daughter said the same thing. I don’t eat meat so couldn’t give my opinion on it. It looked amazing but they said it didn’t tast amazing.
We also were freezing for more than half of the time there and told several ppl over and over at least 6 times until the manager heather finally came to our table and said she worked on it and it finally stopped blowing cold air. We were happy and it lasted about 40 minutes and we were all back freezing again. She had said she’d give us a round of desserts and a round of drinks which ended up being a splash of some champagne and 4 desserts on 2 plates and it was 9 people at the table smh. I’m not sure what was the point of her saying that because now I know that they do that for everyone who is celebrating a birthday there, but she said it to us as if we were being compensated for us having been freezing almost the entire time we were there. She made it seem genuine and now I’m really pissed about because she lied. Our bill did not have not one drink paid for on th house as she promised. And the dessert was ok but I thought everyone at the table was getting a dessert. Once they saw it they told my husband and I to go ahead and eat it because it wasn’t nearly enough for 9 people.
The main course finally comes out and I had some spinach, green beans and mashed potatoes which I think were too watered down. The green beans and spinach was ok, nothing to brag on but I could eat it. Everyone at the table said their foos was missing flavor. So overall beautiful scenery and very pleasant customer service, food presentation was great, but once you took a bite it was a disappointment which is sad. We all expected much better. I’d go here for the bread and drinks before I buy any food here again. Our check alone was $190 and I can’t even see where it was...

Excellent Dining Experience; Service, Ambiance and Food Quality
Review:
I recently had an exceptional dining experience at Capital Grille in Cincinnati and I am delighted to share my positive review. My family and I visit this restaurant occasionally for special occasions and business lunches, and this particular visit was to celebrate the birthdays of my two sons.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was busier than usual, which led to a longer wait for our order. However, despite the delay, the staff remained attentive and apologetic. When our order finally arrived after approximately 45 minutes, I realized that my steak was cooked well done instead of my preferred temperature. I politely informed our waiter about the issue, and he promptly apologized and assured me that it would be corrected.
To my surprise, a few minutes later, the manager approached our table and personally apologized for the delay and the cooking error. He explained that they were experiencing difficulties due to a large party going on. The manager went above and beyond by offering us complimentary desserts or anything else from the menu, as a gesture of goodwill. I graciously declined, understanding the circumstances and appreciating their effort to make amends.
I patiently waited for my corrected meal, and when it arrived, it was absolutely perfect. What truly impressed me was that, even after the meal, the manager returned to our table and informed us that not only had he comped my meal, but he had also taken care of our bottle of wine. This level of generosity and consideration was truly remarkable.
The Capital Grille has consistently provided us with a great ambiance and delicious food, but what sets them apart is the exceptional customer experience delivered by their staff and management. This incident further solidified our loyalty to this establishment. The professionalism and genuine care displayed by the staff and management are commendable.
I highly recommend Capital Grille in Cincinnati to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. From the outstanding food to the exceptional service, they consistently go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Keep up the fantastic work,...
