I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because our server Brian was fantastic and the house salad dressing is amazing. I'm finished with giving this place my money. I kept giving them chances thinking that it would improve over time, but I was wrong. My wife and I ordered the butter & sage gnocchi, and Brian was nice enough to allow me to have chicken parm instead of the eggplant. What kind of Italian place doesn't have chicken parm the menu (or veal for that matter, but we won't get into that)?
The place was busy but was in no way mobbed. We waited over 20 mins for our house salads, which was confusing because it was literally just lettuce, cherry tomatos, and croutons. I stand by the claim that the house garlic vinaigrette is absolutely amazing...they might want to just turn this building into a manufacturing and bottling facility for this stuff..might be more sustainable.
I'm very disappointed to say that our entrees were an absolute joke. The butter & sage gnocchi was butterless, dry, and hard. The chicken parm came out with feta cheese on it. No parmesan cheese at all. Its in the name of the dish! I...I just don't understand how they think its ok to do that. When ordering chicken parm you expect melted, stringy deliciousness that you can twirl on your fork with every bite of pasta. The marinara sauce was tasteless, and seemed almost like it came out of a can.
We wanted to say something to Brian, but he was so busy that I didn't want to add another complaint to his list (there were multiple tables around us who weren't happy). I looked towards what looked like the manager multiple time and he chose to ignore me in order to attend to more...elderly patrons. Frustrating. If you're in the mood for Italian, just go to Betta's. Everything on their menu is amazing and management is friendly and appreciates...
Read moreIf I could rate the service any lower, I would. We had reservations at 630 and we were seated in a timely manner. From there, it took a little longer than normal to order our drinks (not a big deal, it’s Saturday night). That’s only the beginning. The service was terrible. Our waitress only came and checked on us 3 times. We waited 10+ minutes in between drinks/refills. Again, there were 11 of us we weren’t mad or annoyed (yet). After an hour and a half we finally got our food, but in bits. Half of us were about done eating and the other half of us hadn’t even gotten our food. One of us was sitting without food. His food didn’t come out until the rest of us were asking for boxes. Not exaggerating. Another 45 minutes were still waiting for our bills. Our bills finally come and there were items on my bill I did not order. When I addressed this with our waitress she just ignored me and I had to pay it anyway. When the last meal came out we asked right away to speak to a manager. We spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promised she would take the meal off of the bill. When the time came, she did the exact opposite. She proceeded to tell me that because of our large party I received my meal in a feasible amount of time. Again, by the time I received my food the other 10 members of my party were finished and getting boxes and also we had been there for two hours at this point. She said she was not going to take my meal off of my bill even though she previously promised she would when I initially talked to her and then she walked away from me and refused to talk to me. I was not causing a scene or yelling in anyway, just trying to address my concerns. The food was pretty good but nowhere near worth all of this. I would not recommend this...
Read moreThis is the year 2019 and I thought this word would never come out of my mouth PREJUDICE! I see it on tv, hear it in the news but never notice it happening to me until last night when my friend took me and his son out for dinner. The place was not busy at first, plenty of empty tables and the waitress was not friendly. She brought us our drinks, some bread and salad, then we waited and waited and waited for our food, while watching the tables around us fill up with people that came in after us get served their food. I then noticed I was the only black person in the building and said to myself "no that's not the reason why we our getting poor service" then a man comes by our table picks up the bread basket and tells us he will bring us more, so then we continue to watch him pass by our table serving everyone with bread and guess what us NO BREAD! and still no food. The waitress comes by and tells us sorry we're waiting on your sandwhiches. It took more than an hour to get meatball sliders, meatball sub with fries and spaghetti and meatballs and all of it was cold while seeing everyone around us food was steaming hot. I did not know that meatballs take longer to cook than pizza and you suppose to get it cold. My friend continued to ask for the bread and it never came. If you have'nt figured it out yet my friend is white. So, if you have dark skin DO NOT! go to Sorrento's even in a group. We paid over $50 for bad service, but we did leave a quarter tip. I really rate...
