I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because our server Brian was fantastic and the house salad dressing is amazing. I'm finished with giving this place my money. I kept giving them chances thinking that it would improve over time, but I was wrong. My wife and I ordered the butter & sage gnocchi, and Brian was nice enough to allow me to have chicken parm instead of the eggplant. What kind of Italian place doesn't have chicken parm the menu (or veal for that matter, but we won't get into that)?

The place was busy but was in no way mobbed. We waited over 20 mins for our house salads, which was confusing because it was literally just lettuce, cherry tomatos, and croutons. I stand by the claim that the house garlic vinaigrette is absolutely amazing...they might want to just turn this building into a manufacturing and bottling facility for this stuff..might be more sustainable.

I'm very disappointed to say that our entrees were an absolute joke. The butter & sage gnocchi was butterless, dry, and hard. The chicken parm came out with feta cheese on it. No parmesan cheese at all. Its in the name of the dish! I...I just don't understand how they think its ok to do that. When ordering chicken parm you expect melted, stringy deliciousness that you can twirl on your fork with every bite of pasta. The marinara sauce was tasteless, and seemed almost like it came out of a can.

We wanted to say something to Brian, but he was so busy that I didn't want to add another complaint to his list (there were multiple tables around us who weren't happy). I looked towards what looked like the manager multiple time and he chose to ignore me in order to attend to more...elderly patrons. Frustrating. If you're in the mood for Italian, just go to Betta's. Everything on their menu is amazing and management is friendly and appreciates...

If I could rate the service any lower, I would. We had reservations at 630 and we were seated in a timely manner. From there, it took a little longer than normal to order our drinks (not a big deal, it’s Saturday night). That’s only the beginning. The service was terrible. Our waitress only came and checked on us 3 times. We waited 10+ minutes in between drinks/refills. Again, there were 11 of us we weren’t mad or annoyed (yet). After an hour and a half we finally got our food, but in bits. Half of us were about done eating and the other half of us hadn’t even gotten our food. One of us was sitting without food. His food didn’t come out until the rest of us were asking for boxes. Not exaggerating. Another 45 minutes were still waiting for our bills. Our bills finally come and there were items on my bill I did not order. When I addressed this with our waitress she just ignored me and I had to pay it anyway. When the last meal came out we asked right away to speak to a manager. We spoke with the manager and she was apologetic and promised she would take the meal off of the bill. When the time came, she did the exact opposite. She proceeded to tell me that because of our large party I received my meal in a feasible amount of time. Again, by the time I received my food the other 10 members of my party were finished and getting boxes and also we had been there for two hours at this point. She said she was not going to take my meal off of my bill even though she previously promised she would when I initially talked to her and then she walked away from me and refused to talk to me. I was not causing a scene or yelling in anyway, just trying to address my concerns. The food was pretty good but nowhere near worth all of this. I would not recommend this...

This is the year 2019 and I thought this word would never come out of my mouth PREJUDICE! I see it on tv, hear it in the news but never notice it happening to me until last night when my friend took me and his son out for dinner. The place was not busy at first, plenty of empty tables and the waitress was not friendly. She brought us our drinks, some bread and salad, then we waited and waited and waited for our food, while watching the tables around us fill up with people that came in after us get served their food. I then noticed I was the only black person in the building and said to myself "no that's not the reason why we our getting poor service" then a man comes by our table picks up the bread basket and tells us he will bring us more, so then we continue to watch him pass by our table serving everyone with bread and guess what us NO BREAD! and still no food. The waitress comes by and tells us sorry we're waiting on your sandwhiches. It took more than an hour to get meatball sliders, meatball sub with fries and spaghetti and meatballs and all of it was cold while seeing everyone around us food was steaming hot. I did not know that meatballs take longer to cook than pizza and you suppose to get it cold. My friend continued to ask for the bread and it never came. If you have'nt figured it out yet my friend is white. So, if you have dark skin DO NOT! go to Sorrento's even in a group. We paid over $50 for bad service, but we did leave a quarter tip. I really rate...

This was a great surprise. We searched food around us to find this place, and we feel like we hit the jackpot. The decor is wall to wall photo memorabilia. Autographed sports and entertainment photos adorn almost every inch of space. The booths and tables occupy a long dining area, anchored at each end by a bar and a serving station. The far end had a wine grotto, a single wall filled with wine bottles. The menu has salads, appetizers, pasta, pizza, and sandwiches. We started off with the crispy ravioli, light and crispy pasta pastry filled with cheese and served with a delicious marinara. The Italian chopped salad was big enough for an entree, with lettuce, tomato, cheese, peppers, kalamata olives, garbanzo beans, and Genoa ham, and a tangy Italian dressing. I was looking at the sandwiches, and "Rockon," or server, recommended the Big Willy, tender roast beef and pickled veggies and cheese, on ciabatta bread, served with a side of au jus and a side of horseradish dressing. This sandwich is the bomb. It came with a mound of crispy fries and I had a blast eating it. I wish Sorrento's was closer, but it is worth the drive to visit again. There's an outdoor seating area with a bocce ball court. It's an Old World place in an inner city space. Go for great food and the homey atmosphere. You don't want to miss it.

Saw photos of this place and the atmosphere and decor peaked my interest. It was so clean, colorful and everything you want in an Italian dive. We did the bread bowl($4 appetizer) with a delicious garlic butter with a salad with a pesto dressing. If you're not crazy about vinaigrette you may not dig the dressing, but it is very good with the bread. We ordered a small pizza with tomato and onion and it was delicious! A lot of cheese for you cheese lovers out there! We also got the Ravioli Bolognese that my husband and I shared and that was also very good. If you like meat in your sauce, this is a really good option. It's also a very shareable plate, because the size of the ravioli is huge. And of course we ended with cheesecake which was delicious. They also had cannoli and tiramisu which I would definitely go back and try on my next visit. The total was about $65. And that included drinks. I can't remember if our servers name was Taylor but she had long dark black hair. But she was very attentive and sweet. She made us feel at home for our first visit. Large groups: Perfect place indoor and outdoor to hang out. Bar, patio, fire ring all outside for a great large group setting. Perfect way to end our stay in Cincinnati and for our date night.

Unexpected Gem Sorrento’s Italian ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We found Sorrento’s completely by chance. Our original dinner spot turned out to be a tiny strip-plaza takeout joint, and we were in the mood to sit down, so we searched for the next closest place and ended up here. I’ll admit, when we pulled up, the outside looked a little sketchy, and I wasn’t sure what we were walking into. But the moment we stepped inside, it was like being dropped into a scene from an Italian movie it was warm, charming, and authentically cozy, complete with live music. When the hostess asked if we had a reservation, I had a brief moment of panic… but they quickly found us a table, and from there the night was perfect. The portions were huge, the food was flavorful and fresh, and the atmosphere made it easy to linger over great conversation. It’s the kind of place that works for anything from a family dinner, a romantic date, or a night out with friends. Sorrento’s might be “in the middle of nowhere,” but it’s 100% worth the trip.
