I agree with previous reviews that this place is a hidden gem. It’s located inside a hotel on campus close to the bookstore and visitor center, so it’s not exactly hidden, per se - but there’s not really any signage that makes the presence of the restaurant immediately apparent. The only way we happened to discover it was via google map search, trying to find a place to eat after we had already left the campus. Very glad we decided to circle back because everything about this restaurant was outstanding. Our server Toby was very friendly and attentive, the menu had a diverse selection of items from which to choose, and the outdoor patio was lovely and peaceful. We ordered the burrata appetizer and reuben sandwiches - everything was absolutely delicious and thoughtfully plated. The grilled sandwiches were served vertically with the cut side on the plate which allowed the top and bottom of the sandwich to remain perfectly crispy, and the sliced sourdough bread that came with the burrata was the perfect thickness and crispness to complement the creaminess of the cheese without being too tough, too chewy, or too brittle - not enough restaurants pay attention to minor details such as these when preparing their dishes, so I have to celebrate those that do!...
Read moreOur waiter was lovely and kind the whole time, I think Juan is his name, but when the place got busy when the stadium cleared because of the storm, a different staff member came up and was so rude to us. She spoke to us like we'd been asked to leave and were refusing. She said they needed this table "like, now." No one had told us there was a reservation, no one had told us there was a time limit. No one had even given us our check yet! It was bizarre. And then she stood near our table until we left, which was once we had an opportunity to receive a check and pay it. We spent about $450 in our time there, not like we were sitting there sipping water. It was a real bummer to be spoken to like that, ruining our whole lovely experience. She half-heartedly apologized when my sister and niece told her that her tone was extremely rude and unnecessary, but it was truly half-hearted, and her lingering weirdly by the table kinda canceled it out.
Other than our sweet waiter, the Bramble cocktail was wonderful, the burratta, the shrimp cocktail, and the pretzel fondue apps were delicious. We ordered more, but those were the...
Read moreShocking unprofessionalism tonight from a bartender who was surprisingly aggressive when I attempted to show her my carry license as my ID to get a glass of brandy after a long day of activities as a prospective student. I get it if you don't feel like looking in the ID check guide (this was not at a busy time of day), but there is no reason to condescendingly inform me of your ability to ask for an alternate form of ID "as part of your job" and in a deliberately snide tone say that I "wouldn't try that at the other places if I were you ... won't get very far with that around here." Agenda pushed instead of hospitality provided. Overall a nice hotel restaurant that meets expectations and doesn't charge exorbitant prices. It doesn't matter if the hospitality isn't what it should be, though. I didn't try the food, but it...
