If you’re in South Bend and don’t stop at Jinya Ramen Bar, you’ve just fumbled on the one-yard line. First off, they served me GREEN beer. I thought I had teleported to a Notre Dame tailgate in March. It was magical, like the leprechaun himself handed it to me and whispered, “Go Irish.” 10/10 for thematic commitment. Now, the ramen: I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen, and let me tell you, that broth hits harder than a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter. My girlfriend went with the Pork Ramen, which she said was smoother than a Brady Quinn deep ball in his prime. Together, it was the kind of meal that deserves its own highlight reel. But here’s where it gets legendary: Jaylon Smith—yes, THAT Jaylon Smith, the Notre Dame linebacker icon—owns the place. Not only did we get to meet him, but he was the most down-to-earth, personable guy ever. I’ve seen him destroy offenses on the field, but here he was, shaking hands, smiling, and basically tackling customer service like it was the National Championship. Meeting him was better than storming the field after a Notre Dame win—except this time I got ramen instead of turf stains. This place is everything you want in South Bend: good vibes, incredible ramen, green beer that’ll make you chant “Play Like a Champion Today,” and the chance to meet an actual Notre Dame legend. Jinya isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a pilgrimage. Go Irish. Go Ramen.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Cozy Spot with Flavorful Bites and Strong Sips Jinya Ramen Bar delivered on both vibe and flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming; I loved the decor. It had that perfect balance of modern and cozy. I kicked things off with the E Tomo E Tomo E Tomorrow cocktail. It’s vodka-based, absolutely delicious, and surprisingly strong in the best way. For my main, I went with the Spicy Chicken Ramen. I had asked for spicy, but it leaned a bit mild for my taste. Next time, I’ll go hot. Thankfully, the seasoning at the table helped give it the extra kick I wanted. I added a soft-boiled egg (perfectly cooked) and some shiitake mushrooms. Both made the bowl even more satisfying. Lily, our waitress, was fantastic. She knew the menu inside and out and helped walk us through it. She also suggested toppings for my ramen that turned out to be spot-on. The space isn’t huge, but we were seated quickly despite how busy it was. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. I’ll definitely be back.

Had a great experience at Jinya Ramen Bar. There was a bit of a wait but they got my number and said they’d text when a table was ready so we went to Krak Boba and were seated 15 mins later. The J Girl mocktail was delicious— a perfect strawberry basil concoction for fellow sweet & sour mocktail enthusiasts like me. We shared the spicy tuna crispy rice appetizer, and it was delicious! I got the Spicy Tonkatsu ramen and loved it. I asked for spice on the side and the entirety of one spice serving scoop ended up being the perfect amount. Great chasu (was a little fatty and on the smaller side but otherwise fine), perfect soft-boiled soy egg, a decent helping of green onions, and everything else a ramen lover would want. I’ve had ramen all over South Bend and in Japan, and Jinya Ramen is perfectly satisfactory and delicious, as well as being fairly reasonably prices ($10 drink was a bit much but <$10 appetizer and <$20 ramen satisfied me).

wow wow wow is all that i can express from my mouth (or boca in Spanish). i walked into this restaurant and was greeted all around me with the warm sound of arigatos. i was pleasantly happy as i felt warmly appreciated. i was seated after 25 minutes (no surprise as this place is delicioso- that’s delicious in spanish) anywho we were promptly greeted by jack our amazing waiter who had a great personality and checked up on us a perfect amount (reminded me of carrotop the comedian) we ordered our preferred drink of choice and in what felt like in the blink of an eye they appeared! we also ordered the sushi and potstickers which arrived promptly! SO YUMMY AND DELECTABLE! we then ordered the birria ramen and chicken ramen and after some incredible conversation we were given our ramen. and… WOW WOW WOW! so good! we slurped up the final remains of our dishes and again jack came by and asked if we needed anything else. we kindly said no and were given the check. a happy birthday commenced shortly after to the table next to us in which i sang at the top of my lungs! such a great day! I will come back very soon- as i was EXTREMELY pleased. thank you jack and thank you jinya ramen you were the most outstanding spectacular muy bueno(that’s very good in spanish) part of my...

I wish I had taken pictures of all the phenomenal food we had here. My phone was dead at the time but our family tried:

Kiwi Sparkler mocktail Watermelon Delight Mocktail salmon sushi Jinya Bun Tempura Brussel sprouts Jinya Black ramen Curry Birria Ramen Matcha tiramisu Chocolate Mochi Green tea mochi

Everything was beyond excellent! This place is Phenomenal!!! The food is DELICIOUS despite the fact that they have been jam PACKED since they opened! We got nervous when we arrived. Seeing how many people were there since a full restaurant tends to jeopardize their standards for the sake of getting food onto the table. This was not the case at JINYA. The food still came out presentable and delicious, despite how busy they were. The house seasonings/ hot sauce on the table (IMO) are a genius move considering everyone’s pallet is different and we get to season our food to our liking. I especially LOVED the vibe of the restaurant. The service was pleasurable. The ambiance, smiling facing, warm welcome, and cheerful greeting/ dismissal added such a cool feeling to the whole experience. Truly a needed gem in South Bend. Afuri ramen, Okasan ramen, and now Jinya ramen!...
