Taki Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Novato

e ate here tonight.. our server was great.. I ordered a spider roll with the avicado on the side as i am allergic to the fruit b ut my isn't so she can have that came with my order... our food came.. guess what.. avocado in the roll that i ordered... of course they placed my order together with my wifes order on the same plate.. when i told our server she immediately said she will have the kitchen re-order me a new one apologizing for the mistake. She came back after a few minutes with the owner and the ower said just remove the avocado and eat it.. ????...really and have an Anaphylactic shock and die??..really the owner asks a patron if they can just remove the avocado..wow... anyway she agrees to make us a new one... then she sends back our server and tells her to take back the plate and bring it back to the kitchen, with my wifes food in the same plate that she was already eating.. this is very unsanitary and the health department should be aware of this practice and i will make sure that they look into this practice..food service managers are trained that went prepared food passes the counter that it does not come back into the kitchen. ..my wife was half way through her food and they want to take it back to the kitchen with the roll that had avocado and do what??... they want to save a buck and re-use the crab inside the roll.. omg.. these guys are such a rip-off... the food wasn't even good.. then we get the bill and the poor server tells us they will have her pay for the kitchen's mistake.. so i told her it's ok.. i paid for 2 orders of the spider roll that had no taste and left the waitress a $10 tip despite of the mistake on the order.. i have never been to a restaurant that is willing to loose future business and charge their customers the$15 extra for a mistake their kitchen made.... the server pleads with us not to put in a review on yelp as she may get fired.. If she does she is better off.. i wouldn't want to work for someone who treats their customers this way..we love small businesses and support them but when they mistreat the same local customers that make their business thrive then it'snot worth supporting. ... we came here to see the place and planned on having my daughter's bday party and wanted to rent the tatami room.. more than likely an easy $1k transaction. ... but this experience has left such a bad taste that we won't even bother..... i will go to sushiholic.. or some other place .. stay away!.. place SUCKS and...

Taki is one of a very few Sushi/Japanese restaurants in the Novato area. I like going here because it is a little different than Tri but has similar great qualities at the same time.

This place has a very nice ambiance with the front area housing a beautiful Koi pond that will keep you and your little ones (or old ones) entertained if you have to wait for a seat.

This place can get a little busy during peak hours so just keep that in mind

From a seating perspective, the tables that are partitioned off so that you can enjoy your dinner with your company. There is also a nice traditional seating area as well as a sushi bar. On nice afternoons I love sitting outside with my family so they have something for everyone.

The real reason this place is great though is the food. They have a nice selection of rolls and other items that will have something for everyone. I particularly like their special rolls and had almost all of them. My children love the Udon so everytime we go we get at least 1 order of that.

Whenever you're not feeling 100%, give that a shot. Guarantee you'll feel a lot better. Just get it door dashed or ask a significant other to pick it up haha.

One special note that I would like to add is that they have an interesting beer that I never had or seen before. It's called Kawaba Sunrise Ale and it is Delicious!!!

Last week was first time I visit this place, we came 2 adults and a kid, was 7:40pm, we asked if we still can get a table, a girl (waitress) said yes and said that we can choose any one we like We sit, and 2 min after appeared older lady, gave menu and said that they close at 8:30 so we do not have much time. Ok! We quickly read the menu, and ordered 4 different sushi Two drinks for adults and orange juice for kid I understand that we are all now struggling, but they brought the juice for kid more water then juice, like it was mix (and charged for that $5)

Then arrived our sushi Being honest wasn’t tasting fresh The fish was cold, like they kept it in refrigerator ready

But more what shocked us it was the attitude of older lady, she came 6 times saying that they are closing at 8:30, and around 8:20 she dump the dirty water next to our table!

There was one more table with people that were also about to leave

But this kind of thing is not acceptable

They could say that is better we order to go, so no one get stress out, then food wasn’t good at all

The location is nice, but I highly do not...
