My first order from a Red Boy Pizza ... I ordered a large, thick crust, sausage and mushroom pizza. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, was told that it was not yet ready. After about another 10 minutes, the hostess told me that there had been a mistake and they had made a thin crust pizza. I didn't want to wait, so agreed to take the pizza that was ready. The hostess also told me I would get a discount on my next order.
I was stunned when she handed me what appeared to be a child's box, with a pizza about half the size of a large at other pizza places. And, then, when I got home, I discovered that not only was the crust thin, but there was hardly any cheese, a small scattering of mushrooms and virtually no sausage to speak of. All of this I could have lived with if the pizza had just tasted good. It didn't. In fact, it was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had ... and I've been eating pizza for a long time, 70 years, going back to my childhood in New York.
I will never take advantage of the "discount" on my next order, as there will never be...
Read moreI’m new to Marin and in a desperate need for food for a late night at the Office I decided to Give Red Boy Pizza a try. The Sourdough crust is what appealed to me the most. I got the Parisienne with onions on only half.- it was delicious but with the onions and garlic I wouldn’t eat it at work again! Enjoyed it so much I got another pizza the following weekend and ate it in house. I got the Red boy special (deff recommend!) With a side, green salad. The place was clean, attentive service and salad was fresh and the toppings were fresh as well. Fresh toppings in a pizza joint, you dont see a lot of that anymore in chains. Also, the pizza heats up wonderfully as well! For those that don’t “like” sourdough the crust isn’t that sour and you can’t tell its sourdough. For those that do like sourdough, its nice and fresh but isn’t as sour as some breads.
Overall, you should give this place a try. I...
Read moreOut of sheer hunger I thought I should order a Pie, and the Sourdough Crust sounded real good too! I found the Caesar a little confusing. The pizza on the other hand left nothing to the imagination. It spent about 30 minutes in transport which never bodes well for pizza. Took one bite then fired up the oven. The dough is fairly hearty and took about 15+ minutes at 375 to cook through then a quick broil (optional) to finish. This pie was hella greasy, no sponging for me, just what I was looking for!
If you order a Pie and it shows up doughy toss it in the oven. I didn’t get it down until my 5th or 6th slice. But second half of the pizza was incredibly delicious! The sourdough crust lived up to my expectation! The sauce and toppings were uninspired! Not sure if I’ll ever eat here again but you can bet the oven will be preheated before the...
