I have always loved Toast. However, the last time I went was on Mother’s Day. My husband treated my kids and I so we got take out that day. I received a notification letting me know my food was ready, I arrived at the restaurant and they told me it would take an additional 20 minutes. I waited over an hour and a half for my food and they didn’t give me what I had ordered even though they checked my order before I left. I had to drive back to the restaurant after calling them to let them know my order wasn’t correct and had missing meals. I had to leave half of my order at home and at least start feeding my kids while I went back to the restaurant, by the time I got home my food was so cold from having to drive back and forth. I started eating my food and it turns out not even being what I had originally ordered either. I ordered south of the border omelet since it’s my favorite but it was some other kind of omelet. This is all I wanted to eat for breakfast on Mother’s Day with my family but it turned out to be so disappointing because I didn’t end up eating with my family since we all had to eat at different times, we had to eat cold food and eat something I didn’t even order. The young host wasn’t very friendly about the situation either nor seem to care. It seemed like he didn’t care much of his job that day. Not sure if I’ll go back again, I used to love this place until that day. I am not the type to complain but this was a lot for one day. I hope that their service gets better especially during a holiday. No manager seemed to be around that day either to help assist at the front to make sure everything was going smoothly. I wasn’t the only unhappy customer...
Read moreThree stars may be a bit generous, if considered an average rating.
The place appeared clean and has a fun decor, the staff were attentive and seemed reasonably happy, but the chilaquiles dish I ordered was not all that tasty, the eggs were blended and matted and the chicken a bit overcooked. The quantity was substantial, but here’s the thing, I would rather have half as much of a tasty and fresh dish than more of something mediocre.
My guest had the huevos rancheros dish, but it just looked like salsa, cheese, beans and a tortilla, and was apparently just ok, too. Not much of a presentation either.
So for two basic less than average lunch dishes and two glasses of water, it cost $46, including a 4% surcharge. For me, if the dishes were half the helping and twice the flavor and freshness, I could’ve happily swallowed the expense.
Not sure how I’ll make it back here without some big staff / management changes and a bunch of current 4 and 5...
Read moreI'm going to do my best to keep this short. Let me start by saying the one star rating isn't about the service. Everyone was as nice as could be. The one star goes right to the heart of the matter. The food flat out sucks. Dinner could not have been any worse. The place looks like a rock gym from the eighties. It's cold inside with high ceilings and what looks like rocking climbing walls. Moving on... I had an ice tea, Caesar salad, app and pizza for a grand total of $50. I'm sorry, but that just doesn't add up. The Caesar salad was bland, the eggplant meatballs tasted frozen and the pizza sucked. The crust was soggy and flavorless. The whole meal was flavorless. After reading this review head over to KickStater where I've started a fundraising effort to raise money to purchase a spice rack for the kitchen. it's just a bad restaurant, and not worthy of your dinner money. Breakfast might be a whole different story, but it's not where you want to...
