I was really disappointed by this place because I had high expectations because of the reviews. It’s my first açai bowl in Hawaii so I don’t know if that’s just how they are here but the açai was absolutely flavourless. I got the shoyo bowl where the base is acai blended with almond milk, and it was a smoothie like consistency. The acai was pale purple so clearly quite diluted, and it just tasted of absolutely nothing. The toppings were generous, as was the general portion size (18$ for a large bowl that was truly quite large) and the peanut butter I added was nice, but then there was a large drizzle of honey, also tasteless, and just extremely sugary. The granola is also not very nice. The girls working there are not the warmest of people either. So overall disappointed, it was still refreshing but the açai had no taste, the only distinctive ‘flavour’ was sugar.

My favorite açaí / pitaya (dragonfruit) bowls on the island, hands down. Portion sizes are +++ and the base is super thick (just how I like ‘em ;)). Sadly this review isn’t deserving of 5 stars until they fix a couple of things. The location in Haleiwa is bigger with outdoor seating, but always STENCHES in bleach. It is awful and sometimes I don’t even want to come inside simply because my lungs would burn. I don’t have any clue how the workers can handle the smell. Secondly, I wish they can accommodate better / switch things out instead of having to charge extra. The pricing can get out of hand if you need to switch 1-2 times out and substitute for something else. All in all, it’s my favorite açaí / pitaya bowls on island with easy things that can be fixed.

Banzai Bowls serves up some seriously delicious açaí bowls! I had the Shoyo bowl, and my wife had the Maui Sunrise—both were amazing, packed with fresh fruit and great flavors. The portions are generous, and you can’t beat enjoying them by the beach. That said, the prices feel a bit steep considering the ingredients seem to purchased from Costco. You’re definitely paying for the location and the experience. I highly recommend grabbing your bowl and walking across the street to enjoy it on the benches with a beachfront view—it’s the perfect spot to relax. Overall, fantastic bowls, but be prepared to pay a little extra for the vibe and location.

I went to the established early when it opened and received poor service. After placing my order, I sat down and waited for my name to be called for at least 15 minutes at the 15 minute mark a bowl here, but no one called my name because the bowl was made in the size that I did not order. I assumed it was not mine so after another 10 minutes, I walked up to the cashier and asked whether or not this was my bowl and she said yes I replied. I did not know that because this is the wrong size The cashier Needs to get better at being more attentive as well as announcing when a customer’s order is complete. I could’ve saved so much more time at the establishment going...
