I had my last meal at Cinnamon's Restaurant on Sunday 05/23/2021. There were 7 of us for breakfast. 5 plates came out. While waiting on 1 other plate that my wife and I were splitting, the other people were trying to flag someone down to get the condiments (salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc), but the other staff ignored us. I don't care if you are not my server, when you see a customer raise their hand, you service them. The condiment cart was 2 feet away from us. We would have gotten it ourselves but we tried to grab sugar earlier, and was told that only the staff can touch the cart. Here's an idea, keep the cart in the back and not in the open.
When our plate came out 5 minutes later, my friends asked for condiments. The waitress said she was going to bring them out after everyone's food came out. This meant the my friends had to wait till their food got cold or eat it without condiments.
When it came time for the bill, they wouldn't split the check based on who ordered what, which I never understood why but whatever. The total bill was $120 something, we added $30 tip for total $150. (Yes, that's a 25% tip. It was easier for us to just round it up). I put $42 cash in the check holder and my friends asked them to put $42 on one card and the balance on another. They said they couldn't do that. They can only take one credit card. One couple dug through her purse and his wallet for cash, my other friend said F*ck 'um. Took back his credit card and put cash in the check holder.
The other couple that was with us knows the owner/manager. They see him and called him over as we were leaving. He comes over and says "Which one of you swore at my staff?" My other friend said he swore, but did not swear at the staff. The owner/manager then says "Get out of my restaurant". Wow! Great management skills there. Tell us to get out without even trying to see what the problem was to begin with. My wife then sees one of the wait staff do that "Z" snap thing with attitude.
We've supported Cinnamon's a lot over the years. We've had our Harley Owner's Group Christmas party at Cinnamon's at the 'Ilikai three different times, spending close to $7000 over the years. Not to mention the many times we dined at both locations and made suggestions to a lot of out of town friends.
Just the other day, I saw someone post on Facebook that Cinnamon's closed their Las Vegas location and suggested we continue to support locally owned restaurants. Cinnamon's has been part of the Kailua landscape for 35+ years, but I think the past few years their success has gone to their heads. The attitude of the staff/management seems to be that the customers should be grateful that Cinnamon's is even open. We'll not any more. Yes, they have the right to refuse service, but I also have the right to take by...

ATMOSPHERE: They're located in Kailua Square, a small 2-level complex on a side street; just look for the crowds spilling out onto the sidewalk. A tacky tent and broken umbrellas complete the protected outdoor seating in the square's courtyard where they seem to have taken over the entire area as some tables are right up to other businesses' windows & store fronts. Indoor seating is available as well.
MENU: Breakfast selections, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, fish, meat & chicken.
FOOD: Crab Cake Eggs Benedict Thank you, reviewers, for guiding me to this dish I never order because I'm a plain egg kinda guy. It's a traditional benedict but with their home made, delicious, moist, flavorful crab cake instead of ham. I got hash browns as my side, cooked nicely to a crispy disc, or home style fries are available. A full order comes with two benedicts, the half with one. I have a pretty good appetite but the full order was a little too much for me. Highly recommended dish.
Red Velvet Pancakes I love red velvet cupcakes and I love regular pancakes but I'd rather keep the two separate as far as cooking style, if you know what I mean. The flavor was spot on and not overly sweet, even with the drizzle of white chocolate. We were able to order a single one which we shared but didn't finish. To each his/her own.
RESERVATIONS: We walked in on a Saturday morning and waited about 40 minutes for a table.
SERVICE: Female server was super friendly and professional. Good job!
TIP: They're open for breakfast & lunch only.
OVERALL: Very nice breakfast menu and a better choice over the standard...

Ive been going to Cinnamons for 15 years. Its always great service. Their food, is always great. You have to come early and prepare to wait at least 15 to 45 minutes. Bring change to feed the meter unless you come in on a Sunday. But while you wait you can check out the nearby shops including a chocolate factory and plenty of other things.
The workers there are great. I see the same people there all the time. They are always friendly. Make sure you show them respect and be nice!
They are known for their pancakes and macadamia sauces. I usually forgo those while the missus gets some kind of short stack. Usually Chantilly, red velvet, haupia or whatever the flavor is.
Our go to is the eggs benedict, which has a great sauce! They are really good at making poached eggs and the hollandaise is amazing. No matter what kind you get they all are amazing.
Some of their specials is a Steak marsala, which sounds weird but I love a marsala. The sauce is a beefy marsala which is not typical but extremely good. They cook the steak to order and I suggest getting it medium rare and not rare like I normally get. I also get the eggs scrambled because I dont wont yoke messing with that delicious marsala.
Today we got the coffee cake for the first time. It was honestly like a cornbread with the streusel on top, but thats fine. Normally we get a Cinnabon to start with but this time they were all out of them.
If you are in Kailua and want the best breakfast around, you cant go...
