Oh man, what can I say about Kaimana Shave Ice? First of all, we had The pleasure of having them at our wedding last month at Kualoa Ranch. Many of our guests were coming from the East Coast, NJ in particular and they have never experienced Hawaiian shave ice before. We knew we had to give them that experience at our wedding. First off, all of our guests, could not stop talking about how amazing their shave ice was. They had amazing flavors, and the toppings were to die for. My favorite was the macadamia nut ice cream! Not only was the shave, ice delicious the service made it even more special. The girls at the counter helping our guests were probably one of the most friendliest people I’ve ever met with bright smiles on their faces that you can’t help but want to get a second serving of shave ice. I don’t know, I guess it’s because we’re all from New Jersey that we’re not used to having everyone be so nice but all I can say is Kaimana shave ice not only was serving shave ice at our wedding, but they also showed the very best of the aloha spirit. We were so happy with them and their service that we returned 2 days later when we did our North Shore adventures. If you’re thinking of hiring Kaimana shave ice for any event that you may have, we encourage you to do so! You will definitely not regret it! Thank you so much Kaimana shave ice for making our wedding extra special!!!

We just visited (May 23, 2024) with 79° weather and mid humidity, so we were a bit parched after shopping at the Ocean Queen Himalayan Handicraft Tibetan Shop and the GreenRoom Art Gallery, so we needed to cool down and sit for a while. We went to Kaimana for the best shave ice, because they make them flavorful and with natural ingredients. I ordered adzuki beans and sweet cream toppings with coconut and vanilla. It was such a good combination, they should make it an official combo. The others in my party ordered the Sunset combo, Coconut and condensed milk, Blueberry and Mango, Lilikoi and Mango w/LiHing Mui powder. We watched Sean Kaleponi's YouTube video and remembered that the backyard seating was a bonus point. There's a side patio with 2 seats and a porch bench to the right of the cashier. If you go down the path towards the water, there's more lawn seating with a beautiful view. There are about 4 seats in front of the shop, with good shading overhead. We loved the offerings and the staff, who were friendly and professional. There's parking that's just West of the shop, shared with the other food truck vendors in the lot.

I thought Ululani's was good. Holy moly, this place is on another level of delicious shave ice. While they are a more granular shave ice (I prefer silky/fine ice), the flavors and quality of the ingredients are well beyond what we expected of Hawaiian shave ice. Service is fantastic, quick, and friendly. The geckos around the shop add to the enjoyment of this cute shop. Then, you get your shave ice and are blown away with something that's supposed to simply be shaved ice flakes/granules with flavor splashed on. Nope, it's not simple. Strawberry has actual strawberry infused. Lychee has actual lychees. Matcha? Yep, that's real matcha. The ice creams are also delicious and complement the ice so well. The complexity of this treat is incredible at Kaimana. I wish they weren't only on the North Shore, so I could have more tomorrow. It's damned near perfect. Maybe it's intentional, but if they could get the granular ice to be finer like Ululani's they would probably be the most perfect shave ice in the world. Regardless, they're the best shave ice I've ever had so far.

I tried shave ice for the first time at Kaimana and I am glad I did. I had no idea what to get and the team working there recommended the "Heavenly" which was Cocoa, matcha and mochi over macadamia nut ice cream. I was blown away by how good it was and how absolutely fresh the flavors were! I had never had macadamia nut ice cream before but now I want it at my local grocery store. The ice was soft and easy to eat with magnificent flavor while the ice cream underneath was smooth and creamy. Seriously blown away by this place. My wife got the strawberry lemonade. I tried hers and the strawberry topping was so fresh it tasted like they has made us a strawberry lemonade smoothie with real fruit! Needless to say, we finished both and when I come back to North Shore I will be stopping here again. Probably for the same item! Just as a heads up for parking, depending on which direction you come from there will be a small parking lot with other food trucks just at the end of the shopping center Kaimana is in. It was monitored by a parking lot attendant the day we went. We told her we were there to visit Kaimana and she let us know parking was free for us in that lot. Also, after you get your shaved ice from Kaimana definitely go sit out back by the river by exiting the shop through the door on the right facing the counter. There were ducks and it was a nice relaxing view with seating for us to have our dessert. Love this place,...
