Malai Thai Food Truck — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I’m only upset that it took me three years of living on the north shore to try Malai Thai. The food at Malai, is some of the best Thai food I’ve had.

1. everything tastes fresh and herbaceous. Similar to what you would taste in Thailand itself.
2. the food does not take long, which is a breath of fresh air, compared to the insurmountable wait times at every other NS food truck. And should you have to wait, you can sit outside and take in the fresh air.
3. the Thai curry noodles is a unique spin on traditional yellow curry, and in my opinion very delicious.
4. malai Thai is willing to accommodate what you want in your dish, and still maintain an inexpensive price point. Another win to find on the north shore!
5. I only listed 4-stars for atmosphere as sometimes parking can be tough should it be busier than usual.

The owners of this food truck are so helpful, polite and friendly. It's always nice when you find an all around, well rounded food establishment because not too many exist. But this food truck serves up really good tasting Thai food. I try to make it a habit by ordering something different each time I go because everything is good and really flavorful. I really love their Pad Thai because it's not shy on veggies and meat... and the portions are very generous. Their Thai fried chicken is crispy and yummy and not disappointing in size. This was one order for one person that turned into a sharing portion for 3, and we were all full. The prices are very decent and the portion size is generous. The parking is not bad when you dont hit the lunchtime craziness. The outdoor seating and set up is cute. There's park like benches with umbrellas to keep you out of the beaming sun. What a fantastic little food truck!

This is back inside a little food truck collective and everything was freshly made to order. There is a nice big parking lot for the collective which is nice in Haleiwa!

We had tom yum which was filled with fresh ginger, lemongrass, mushrooms and was so refreshing after a day on the beach. We ordered it no spice for the kids and the flavor was full well balanced between salty and sour and a hint of sweetness.

We also had the fried cashew chicken which our kids LOVED.
