Kiwi Style Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I would have give 5 stars but because the waiting time is so long. The food is great but we missed our tour because it was too late.

Location: It is located just before the entrance of Polynesian Cultural Center. The food truck is huge with lot of seatings everywhere.

Service: there is a short line while ordering but long time to wait. We ordered 1pm thinking that we can get the food in 30 mins but we ended up getting it at 02:05pm. We missed our tour (2pm because of this). They are nice and apologetic but when a couple (caucasian) who has later number than us they prioritize them. Then people (indian and chinese) including us complained to them on why they make the couple food first than us, and we only heard sorry from them.

Food: the food was great. We ordered seafood parcel which got everything. The fish and calamari was fresh, it was crispy and huge portions. It is also seasoned well. Well maybe we are just too hungry that we thought it was good, even my nephew said he was very hungry.

Price rating: 7/10, amount is okay but with the waiting time, maybe ill just go somewhere else.

If there is a chance I come back to their truck, i will still give them second chance, hoping they have faster service specially if mostly of the people eating there...

My review is mainly about the unscrupulous way that this establishment imposes a tip (15% of entire order and taxes). I order a portion of fish & chips and after scanning my card, the screen moved fast to the tiping panel then on a blink of an eye the tip was added to my order and ....I was asked if I need a receipt. After checking it, I discovered the extra charge. Totally unprofessional but ...hei ...someone has to make a living! I asked the young lady at the counter about the charge and she stayed that "there is an option that you can cancel it...if you want". First of all , that should be and option that I can choose if I want to pay a tip, without being imposed by the seller. Second, everything is happening to fast so ..I know time is money but are my money. In the end, is not about the 2, 3 extra bucks that you might pay when you order, but is about the way how they do it. Shame on you !!! If she would have apologies for it or try to make it up somehow I would might say is a mistake but unfortunately they didn't because that's how they do it....you have to have some guts to do it this way...but will mostlikely not get you to far on...

I ordered fish and chips and fish sandwich combo. We waited more than 25 mins.The fish sandwich sucks no taste and soggy. I got 2 pieces of thin breaded fish, soaked in oil, the fish had no taste, the fries were ok but had no salt. The can soda was warm. And $1.00 extra for sauce. And $3.00 extra to substitute the chips for sweet potatoes. I had a kid cashier, who was pleasant. I do not know what was taking so long, on a quiet day, for fast food. I love fish and chips and this was the worst fish we ever had. Burger king fish sandwich taste better. Would not eat there again. were...
