Pau Hana Bar — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Pau Hana Bar is exactly what it is. A bar perfectly placed in the middle of Foodland to enjoy delicious plates and drinks before, after, or during work.

There are not a lot of grocery stores that have bars in them and it’s kind of a fun experience to be eating and drinking when there are people shopping for groceries all around you. The staff is fantastic and very helpful at helping selecting dishes and drinks. Since the food is prepared in a grocery store, everything seems to be fresh and a very farm to table experience.

The bathroom situation could be improved. It’s over in the frozen section along the wall. You have to go through the swinging double doors (as if you were going into the back area of the grocery store) and down the hall. They are not the cleanest...

Resto-bar in the middle of a grocery store - reminds me of places in Europe and Asia I’ve travelled. Service was excellent, bartender was super friendly and attentive and drinks were great, but food was average at best. Calamari karaage was ok but very greasy/oily; we were some of the first to order at lunchtime and I suspect their fryer wasn’t up to temp but they tried to cook it anyways. We split the burger which came with great fries (fryer now up to temp?) and the burger was fine, but just kinda plain and underwhelming. Very strange that such a poppin and lively bar would be found inside a supermarket but here you have it. The service is above par. The food servings are very generous.

They had local music playing once which was nice, considering it's a bar but appears to have been removed from the equation.

Tuesday's, margaritas is the special and they had quite the selection. Coming in at $6, they are not only delicious but a great deal to boot! Win win!

The bar is actually pretty big with seating around all four sides. It's definitely a locals spot. Surprisingly, this place was pretty packed for a Tues right after work.
