Penalty Box — Restaurant in O’Fallon

Will never step foot in the penalty box again and it's sad because we enjoyed meeting our friends there. The owner is the most ignorant man I have ever came across, . We brought a group of 20 people to his bar,keep in mind we were the only people in the bar and the owner went nuts asking us to leave, screaming in women's faces all because he found a beer can from outside the bar that someone walked off the party bus with that we were using for cigarette butts because we couldn't find an ash tray. We were buying shots/ drinks and he told us all to leave literally yelling "Bye"in our faces! He sits at the end of the bar every night, watches the bartenders every move, is not friendly to anyone that walks in the door and is waiting to yell at anyone in his bar. We have given this place a chance many times, we all live by this bar and all of our friends hang out at this bar. We are all from north county and would all meet at this bar often. We would hear people say negative things about this bar but we would still go because it's close to all of us and on this end of ofallon we don't have many bars. But after our last experience we will never go back and we have let everyone know how we were treated and they have all agreed to not go back. They say they have food but he will not open the kitchen up when you want to order food! Unfortunately if this bar had a different owner it would do way better because we would love to go back but not when an owner will scream" bye leave my bar" in the face of of grown women and mothers I can't give anyone a penny that would treat people like that especially when we were the only customer's in the bar the only other customer in the bar got up and left after he seen how the owner acted. Outrageous lack of service and professionalism. Called at 5:20pm, prime peak hour for dinner, asked the individual about prices on wings. The individual stated that their shift was over at 6pm, so we’d have to wait to order until they left to order.

I was not born yesterday - they didn’t want to have to stay after their shift and were trying to dodge the food order. This upset both my wife and I, so my wife called and asked the same question. The individual stated that they just told me they were off at 6 and we had to wait to order since there would be the cook time and travel time to Penalty Box.

My wife has worked in food service since high school, and made the employee aware that she knows she’s trying to skip out on the order and that she could transfer the check to the next employee. She also told them that we live very close and would be there quickly. The employee got verbally annoyed, and said, “Fine, what do you want?” My wife listed the order, and stated we’d be there shortly to pick it up. The employee rudely hung up without saying anything after that.

When I arrived, I stated I was there for the wing order. She went back to the kitchen to let them know that I’m there. The cook came out and said, “We have to thaw the wings, so they’re looking at a 40 minute wait.” At this point, I was fed up and asked the individual that took the order why they didn’t check the timeframe of the order if they were in such a rush. I then stated I didn’t even want the food anymore, and that the service was very disappointing.

PSA to all woman attending this bar. My girlfriend and I showed up there a couple nights in a row. 2nd night being the day after St. Patrick's day. Her and I shoot pool most of the night. An old man sitting on the complete opposite side of the bar away from the pool tables approached my Girlfriend after I went to the bathroom. He complemented her hair (which I could care less on anyone hitting on her) then told her her hair "looked red on video" she replied with confusion...he responded with "I saw you the night before at home on video and saw that hair again on video and had to come up and see you myself". Well come to find out he's the owner and a total creep with this not being the only incident after talking to a few regulars. So if you want to be stalked and creeped on by an old man that's so forward to wait til I went ton the bathroom to compliment her and was watching her on video for 2 days and had to make a special point to come see her.
