Update: 5/11: it’s been a little over a year since we’ve discovered this place. We’ve tried many other restaurants that sell sushi but nothing in the Milwaukee area compares. Been coming here every Monday since last year and will continue to eat their absolutely delicious, well made sushi until I depart next summer to my next assignment.
I used to pass by this restaurant daily on my way to work or whenever I go to kohl’s and Target. The building was an average looking building that advertised multiple different cuisines on the outside. From watching all of the Kitchen Nightmare shows, I expected this to be gross and bland Asian food.
We still decided to give it a try because it had a descent rating plus we wanted some sushi other than Meijer’s. Now, we are eating Monday Sushi special every week. It is very delicious and quality is great. We normally get 3-5 rolls between the two of us. Amount of sushi varies per roll, so we try to get no more than $40/$50 worth. We are used to eating sushi from Japan from our last assignment, and this is very comparable in taste.

Read moreI've watched this restaurant transformed from an authentic Chinese restaurant into a "Me too" Americanized Chinese's restaurant during the last decade.
Lots of Chinese entrée are gone from the menu, most likely it's business decisions to help the restaurant stays afloat. After all, not too many Asian customers come in on a regular basis.
Now that they focus serving Japanese lunches and dinner, their food quality is on par with others in the area, and that is a good thing. Having said that, I'd like to touch base on how they serve hibachi.
Looks like the sequencing or steps are in the wrong order....The hibachi chef would cook all veggies first, then fried rice and lastly the meat. That's where the problem is, for a full house hibachi table, by the time he serves you fried rice, the veggies are cold already, and you haven't got a taste of the meat of choice yet. And when he finally serves you the meat, the fried rice on your plate was cold.
With all being said, the services are top notch, owners really do care about their customers, sushi are great tasting, price is...
Read moreI was in town for a few reasons and I took my buddy and his girlfriend out for his birthday. We figured on hibachi for the evening, and, not living in the area, they chose Lotus. While good, it was not very memorable. There was a huge group of folks sitting with us, so their conversations really took over. This was not the restaurant's fault by any means, but it did kind of put a damper on the night. The hibachi chef did the standard flipping of the utensils and the onion volcano, but to be honest, I wasn't paying much attention to it, as it was nothing I haven't seen before already. Once again, not a knock on the restaurant. I got some sushi for an appetizer and the steak and shrimp for my entrée. To be honest, I don't remember when my friends got, but they did get drinks that were SO STRONG! I guess they wanted to give him a birthday present. That was nice for my friend. Overall, while it was a good place to eat and the food was tasty, it was missing something that made it memorable. Would I come here again? Maybe. Would it be my first choice?...
