Hello ThereHello There
I visited here for the first time for a business Christmas party, I wasn't sure what to expect. When I drove in to park I was impressed with the building which looked like it was newly constructed and nice finishes you can tell they went an extra mile to leave a lasting impression. The inside was equally impressive and reminded of that of an upscale China restaurant you would visit in New York or New Jersey. We had a a buffet style lay out that was brought straight to our table where the hostess orderd just about everything on the menu, so when I say I've tried almost everything on their menu, it's quite true, literally. some of my favorites were the kung pao chicken and szechuan beef, as well as the hot and sour soup....all so yummy and delicious. No cutting corners here. The service was as friendly and prompt. We had a party of 23 and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this place and I've been back twice, chicken wraps are definitely something to try as well

Bland, boring, and overpriced... but it was right next to my hotel, so there is that.. (that counts for something, right?) Also, super small amount of food for the price. I ordered (2) chicken chow meins and (1) potsticker, to go. My total was $53.50 after tax and tip... for one lunchbag of food. The whole time walking back to my hotel room, I swore I was going to my something missing when I opened the bag...but sadly, no... it was all there, just way overpriced. (I gave the service and atmosphere as 3 stars as it was takeout, so I can't really judge on those topics)

Their food is fantastic. The wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. Establishment is always Very clean. Restrooms are amazingly clean every time I went there Pricing is on par with other restaurants in town so very reasonable. Portions are robust, I always leave with a to go bag. I do however recommend going at lunch time because fried rice is included with your meal. Dinner time they seem to charge for any rice to accompany meals. If your visiting Oak harbor it is also conveniently located right in same parking lot as best western. They do deliver

Really nice staff. The food is classic American Chinese, so I'm not sure what people complaining it's not authentic are on about-- of course it's not authentic Chinese, American Chinese is an entirely different cuisine specifically created decades ago for the American palette. If you want authentic Chinese you'd be at a Hunan or Szechuan specialized restaurant. Here there are the types of dishes you'd see at Panda, but a bit nicer in quality. Because this is American Chinese the dishes are indeed a bit bland although I find the cashew chicken is usually nicely flavored. American Chinese is not going to be spicy, although I'm sure they'd find chili if you wanted it. They're very accommodating to substitutions and allergies. The other plate I quite like is the walnut prawns although they're a little sweet, so I like to have them at the end as a dessert. The portions are usually quite large so know that each thing you order is a sharable plate for most people, if you want variety you might want to get a set meal or share a few items and expect left overs. Nice selection of cocktails, beer and wine. Plenty of space too with a big bar area with tables on one side then the other restaurant side with tables and booths that is child friendly. It's not my #1 on the island, and I much prefer some authentic Hunan food most days, but this is a family restaurant, intentionally serving American Chinese cuisine and doing a fine job of it, so I felt I needed to stick up for them a bit. Folks just need to understand what the...

Ordered for Delivery, but never received food.

This was the first time I attempted to order here. I ordered my food over an hour before closing. The host that took the order was nice, and even called back to verify something in my order, and then said it should be delivered 45 min to an hour. Two hours pass, no phone call (they had my number), then three, four hours... food never showed. Attempted to call them a little after an hour when my food didn't show, but they were closed. Sent email requesting answers.

I checked my bank account and I had already been charged (almost $50, which is a lot of money to receive nothing), so it would of been nice to of at least received a courtesy call. I've read other reviews that say it's hard to receive a refund. I definitely don't think I will eat here (would say again, but I didn't even get the food).

I'll edit this later with the update.

**Update: Had called the restaurant the next day, apparently the driver wrote down my number incorrectly from the restaurant. They allowed me to pick up my food from them directly, plus extra rice to take care of the delivery fee from before. If I had wanted a refund it would of taken over 2 weeks, so I'd rather have the food.

Bumping the stars I gave them from 1 star to 3 stars. Food was good, but still a bit pricey for amount given. People were also pretty nice there, so...

The food wasn't the best nor nothing to speak about. I had called in my order for pick up since having a long day after having to say goodbye to a family loved one.😢😢 My family and I were staying in the Hotel next door to China City...only a few steps away. When I went to pick up the order after sitting in the lobby for 20 mins all by myself....very down and out due to the emotional day that I had just had. I was ...APPROACHED BY AN OAK HARBOR POLICE OFFICER....THAT THEN QUESTIONED ME...ABOUT IF I WERE DRIVING AND THAT THEY HAD BEEN CALLED FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.. I WAS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED...I HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE LOBBY ALL BY MYSELF JUST WAITING FOR MY ORDER...THAT WAS ALL.... WHICH I THEN EXPLAINED TO HIM ABOUT WHERE I WAS STAYING AND WHAT MY SITUATION WAS!!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HUMILIATED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE....BEING 65 YEARS OLD!!!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO CHINA CITY AGAIN!!!!!!! THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY UNCALLED FOR AND HAD NO REASON IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM!!!!! The food was not good and over priced....and if you ever want to be HUMILIATED...obviously that's the place you need to be....ESPECIALLY AFTER A EMOTIONAL DAY AFTER A FUNERAL !!!! Maybe you need to hire employees that can understand and have a little compassion and not judge when they have no idea what pain others my be going...
