Ordered the 16 piece chicken picnic meal for a Father’s Day get-together with family. I chose to order from here because they were a locally owned business - I could have gone to a chain to get chicken, and probably for. Heaped, but I like to shop local. In this case - never again. The total bill for what I got was just shy of $90. I will say that when I arrived it was just being brought up, so it was ready on time. One of the workers assured me that everything was there - I double checked about the slice of pie because that was a random add-on. It took an incredible amount of time to “check out” considering I had ordered and paid online, and in the end they had me sign some ki d of receipt thing that I found completely unnecessary but whatever. I grabbed my bag and was on my way. Upon arrival at my destination about 15 minutes later, I unpacked only to realise that they had forgotten a number of items - mainly both sides that were supposed to come with the chicken, as well as the steak for a salad I had ordered. I called back and they knew right away what I was talking about. So - chicken went in the oven to try to keep it warm, and back I went. I had them re-cook the steak because I did not wish to have steak that had now been sitting out waiting for me for nearly an hour. The only compensation I was offered was a slice of pie. I declined as there were seven of us, and one piece of pie was a joke. Another 20 minutes later and I was back with the group with the rest of our food, now well over an hour later than we had planned on eating. The chicken was soggy since it had sat for so ling, and lukewarm. it had also clearly been left in the fryer for too long - it was fried but also blackened, and tasted similar to coffee grounds. Even the 8 year old in our group could tell it was not good.
In summary - Pizza Ranch is a far superior choice for chicken take-out. And for $90, I would have expected much better preparation and a complete order the first time around. And lacking that, better compensation than a $4.00 piece of pie.
None of my family will ever return here again, and thats saying quite a bit as we have been customers since...
Read moreWe visited Joseph's on a whim one night, before the bar was added. We weren't expecting much and we were blown away by the awesome. The reuben sandwich was was to die for, it was melt in your mouth good. The made from scratch veggie burger was fantastic. The service was excellent and even though we were stuffed, we chose slices of pie to take home with us. We've raved to family and friends since then, saying it was worth the drive to Stillwater.
Tonight was a different restaurant, completely. We brought my parents on good review... My dad's fish sandwich would have been better if it were made of cardboard. My veggie burger was now prepackaged nasty that could have been cardboard. The two reuben sandwiches that came to our table had enough fill in them to make one sandwich. This arrived after a forty minute wait. It isn't that we wanted the best but we certainly expected better.
For twenty minutes our waitress was a no show to check on our table. My children were begging for the food to come, my son was starting to cry. Beer was served to our table in a broken glass.
When we commented on the food, our waitress had little to say. When we requested the manager, there was no apology. The customer service was poor at best.
There were four servers on the floor. Alex, our server, and three others. The place was not busy. We are talking maybe two tables per server.
It's possible we caught the restaurant at their best on our first visit.
Our return visit was certainly on par with some of the worst service I've had. I would never recommend this place again. I'm sad and embarrassed that I would have sent anyone to Joseph's to have this experience. I will track down my previous good reviews and remove...
Read moreI ordered the whiskey steak and it did not arrive at my setting until at least 30 minutes later. The waitress apologized and told me that because of this mixup in the kitchen that I would get a free dessert. The steak came, everybody else in my group had almost already finished their meal. There was six of us. And the steak was only about a quarter of an inch thick. It is impossible to cook a quarter inch steak to medium as I requested. Half of the steak was OK. The other half was horrible and I let the waitress know. I also requested some more German potato salad because they only gave me a dollop sized ice cream scoop full of potato salad. She did bring more. The green beans were good. I will give it that much of a positive indication. So after finishing my horrible steak, she asked what kind of dessert I wanted I figured a piece of pecan pie would be just fine. It came and I was surprised because it looked like somebody had already taken a bite out of my pie. It had a topping on it so I tasted the pie along with the topping, and this topic was rancid and sour tasting as ever could be. One of my friends also tasted it and agreed that it was rancid, and that the machinery that dispersed this topping was probably improperly cleaned. He had been in the restaurant business before so he knew what he was talking about. I could not eat any more of that pecan pie. I let the waitress know of my total disappointment and all the other five guests at the table agreed it was not what they expected this restaurant to be. We only left about a 10% tip each of us on our checks and we will not be coming back ever again and I recommend that no one waste their money at...
