The staff and the owners are rude to customers. The prices are high and if you ask any questions about the wines you are treated like a plebeian, so why bother going to a wine store? I once ordered mixed olives and was brought only green olives. I dared to asked for "mixed olives" and the waiter snapped at me, took my plate away and sent the owner to my table who asked what else I wanted if anything with an angry, irritate tone, I said I was hoping for "mixed olives" not just green ones. She asked if I wanted something else (again with an angry tone) so I ordered another appetizer dish that had some green olives in the description and it arrived without the olives, I asked where the olives were and the owner said, "well since you don't like green olives we took them off the plate for you". The behavior was so hostile that I never went bake again. I then had dinner at Ciro's next door and it was BYOB, I dared to go in to Anfora again to get wine and was once again treated so badly. I would never go there again, not worth it! Ciros' food is great, just get your wine...
Read moreI signed up for the online Rosé class, and picked up my 4 bottles a few days before. Pick up was super easy with the contactless pay, especially if you have kids, they’ll bring it to your car if you’re in the spot right in front of the store. I invited my friends from my quarantine pod to participate with me, and since the classes are online I forwarded the information packet Adrian has prepared prior to the class, and we all logged into Zoom for the tasting. Adrian shares historical, geographic, and anecdotal information about each wine, and allows for time to taste and chime in with opinions and questions. I got to see some other attendees ask questions and enjoy the night in! My group quickly established a great rapport. We all had a great time, and I have to say I have a better understanding and appreciation for Italian Rosé! We’ll definitely do it again! It’s such a pleasure to spend time with someone as nice and genuinely happy to share his passion for the Italian...
Read moreOne of the best things about this locally owned business, is that it is locally owned! Everything you want in a wine store that you don't always find, a great selection, but very knowledgeable staff, great accompaniments like snacks and gifts, and a nice clean place that is extremely welcoming.
It's a great place to stop in the summertime and enjoy a cold glass of white sitting on the patio and in the winter time enjoying a nice glass of red sitting in the tasting room. They have lots of things that are not easy to find and what you would consider a gem! They pride themselves on having a unique selection different from the big box shops!
There are price points for everybody and everybody will feel comfortable shopping here.
Did I mention these are local owners and they are in the store almost every day, a little gem...
