This hidden gem in Oak Park has some delicious food choices on it's menu and I've only hit the tip of the iceberg. Today, I tried the Chicken salad on croissant (aka The Downriver) for lunch and it was a very generous size for the price and equally tasty. I also ordered the peach cobbler and 2 homemade muffins (Cinnamon toast crunch & strawberry with lemon. On a seperate trip, I stopped in an ordered the Chicken Caesar pita and the Enter the Dragon smoothie. I enjoyed all of it and will be back to try other items on their menu.

If you read this review. Give me a thumbs up. This was a cute little black owned restaurant. We got there late and was not able to try much. However they have a very diverse menu and I will be back to try some other things. I had potato soup and vegetable soup. The Vegetable soup needed more seasoning for me and the potato soup was not the flavor I was looking for. However, others liked the baked potato soup. The lemonade was really good as well. I can’t wait to go back and try more items. The owner and staff was super nice.

This is truly a local gem that I can't believe I haven't had sooner. The DR Chicken Salad is my absolute favorite - fresh, creamy, with a little kick. Every item we've ordered - from sandwiches, to smoothies, to dessert - has been amazing! We're working our way through the menu, but I have no doubt each item will be as tasty as the last. Especially hits the spot on hot summer days when you want a fresh, light meal.

The sandwiches were really disappointing… the BBD was described as having slow roasted beef dipped in au-jus… it literally smelled like rotten dog food. I didn’t even take a bite before I threw it in the trash. I was expecting some serious bits of homemade beef and instead it was lower than lunchables quality stink meat and some fake Swiss flavored American cheese. The turkey, ham and bacon on the club were of equal low quality. $10 sandwich should really have better meat in it, especially when they aren’t that generous with the meat in the first place. The baked goods were good but definitely not worth $1.50 for a cookie. I went in at lunchtime and they were super slow… the reasons I listed above are the reason they aren’t getting any business. I hesitated to write this review because the lady at the counter was over the top nice. They have always been real nice, but the food just isn’t any good. My mother is real nice too, I’ll never again eat that woman’s split pea soup though. You all aren’t going to succeed by selling a $5 sandwich for $10 and a .50¢ cookie for $1.50 … I really feel like that needed to be said and I hope...

I stopped in out of curiosity a few days ago and wasn't disappointed. I love a good smoothie and Pik Nik Basket definitely has them. Made with fresh fruit and NO ICE so the consistency stays the same throughout your sipping extravaganza (that's literally the best way to describe it because these smoothies are the bees knees). I also enjoyed the down river chicken salad sandwich and oh my lanta! Hands down the BEST chicken salad I've ever had. My only regret is not being able to finish the whole thing in one sitting. It's THAT good. Also, the young ladies who work at the counter are so sweet. The one I saw a few days ago remembered me and what smoothie I like. And Will is really great too. He's personable and friendly. He knows what he's doing and takes the time to talk to his customers and thank them for their business personally. It's a small gesture but it really means a lot. I highly recommend Pik Nik Basket and I will continue to support this business at the very least, weekly. I hope they're around for...

Rarely do I give 5 stars but this quant little restraint deserves all 5 stars! I went on lunch today per a co-workers experience. From calling in and ordering to picking up my order it was a full on wonderful happy positive energy experience!I ordered a 9 Mile sandwich with extra Swiss cheese, coleslaw and a s'mores cupcake. Let me start with everything is so fresh and perfectly packaged! Delicious lunch meal! The coleslaw tastes just like my Daddies and gave me a nastalgic taste. I haven't had this coleslaw taste in almost 5 years. I couldn't stop eating it so so so good!

This place rocks out some good food! I don't feel bad for eating it either!

I'll be back!! Oh they have a menu for cheese lovers. That's me I'm her I...
