Herbert Gibson was such a kind owner! He stopped to chat with us, and you never ever see a franchise owner out on the floor. Keep this one! He’s a gem. The restaurant was clean, the food was excellent, and he made personal recommendations. Will come back just to see this man succeed here in Ferndale!
This review is edited after a couple of months of finally being able to go back to this location. Unfortunately it seems that training has completely fallen through since the last time that I was here. Every single member of the team seemed very confused. they had no idea what was going on. They didn’t understand how the reward system worked. And a simple task of ordering a to go was tossed back-and-forth over the phone saying, she has to come in. No she doesn’t. She has to order on the app. She has to come in. And by the time I got there they finally decided well she is already here, she has to order here. And then, as with most to go‘s, when you ask for the sauce on the side; number one, it’s typically for a picky eater, and number two it so that food isnt soggy by the time that you got home. A simple request, is it not? Well, apparently not so simple. After waiting at least 15 minutes the sandwiches still came out with the sauce on them. And when I went back to the counter to explain we discussed with the sauce on the side, she had no knowledge of what sauce went on each sandwich. I feel like I had better menu knowledge at this point than the team had. It’s really disheartening to know that the owner of this location has put so much of himself into this and the team that he is hired to train and manage is letting down people left and right. Especially as I saw most every other guest walking out of the establishment also looking irritated, concerned, and frustrated with the entire thing. Will not be recommending any longer. With inflation, why pay premium “fast” food prices, just be left annoyed, when at this point I should’ve been home, done eating 30min ago. As someone who manages and works in food service, we HATE paying for food that we know we can make (more than likely) better at home. Never again....

Read moreThis place has really, truly gone downhill. Used to be a really great little spot for affordable food and good service, but as best I can tell, it is falling apart due to poor management and an inability to retain good talent. They've got some new sponsorship thing they're doing for the Lions, so I'm assuming the aspiring venture capitalist who owns this business (go check out his LinkedIn sometime, it's a doozy) is hoping he can ride the coattails of the newly-successful football franchise to some sort of increased brand recognition. But in the process, they've forgotten the fundamentals of good service and are cutting corners left and right. Restaurant is always understaffed and as a result is filthy, and the employees that used to be quite friendly and amiable are so busy and stressed out from being worked to the bone that they can't even give you the time of day. Sticky floors, full trash cans, and glitchy burnt-in screens for menus. Sauces are half the size they used to be and the containers are all half full on top of it. The food is still decent, but compared to what it was about a year and a half ago, there is an obvious drop in quality if for no other reason than the kitchen staff seeming to not have the time or manpower to do a good job. I...
