So this was our lunch spot on our visist to Epic. The menu is limited but for "park" food it was good. I had the "Gobber the Belch's Turkey Wings". It came with two large roasted turkey wings, herb garlic potatoes, roasted carrots, Cipollini onions, and a wild berry bbq sauce on the side. The wings were big, but a bit over done and hard to eat beause of it. My favorite part though was the veggies that came with the wings. They were very well cooked and seasoned. I would have enjoyed a meal just from them more than the wings.
My son enjoyed the "Berserker's Meatballs" and said they were very good. Looked very similar to IKEA's swedish meatballs. Drinks are overpriced but that is to be expected at a park. I just asked for a couple water cups and the staff were very helpful in getting me that instead of having to order a bottle of water.
Like all sit downs at Epic, you can simply order from your table by scanning a bar code on the table and entering the table number. The food is then promptly brought to your table by very friendly and attentive servers. Much better service than expected from normal attraction park staff. Overall this is a great place to sit, relax and cool off during a hot summer day and enjoy the ambiance Epic created around How to Train Your Dragon. Awesome Isle of Berk inspired art on...
Read moreThe Isle of Berk may have been our favorite place in epic universe but that might also be because that’s where we spent the most time because everything here was 100% up and running. The 4 of us tried and split two items while at Mead Hall: hooligan’s Sausage Links platter and Berserker’s Swedish meatballs. I am not a fan of Swedish meatballs and this place continues that dislike for me but the smashed root vegetable (think mashed sweet potatoes) and the lingonberry jam were good. For the sausage links, I really liked the sausage and the roasted carrots. The bbq sauce was ok and you know I did not care for the onions. All in all, lead hall was ok but I’d rather wait in the line outside and get that mac and cheese cone. But once again, wher eEpic Universe truly shines, is their theming and atmosphere. Mead Hall is a great place to sit down, cool down a little bit and feel like you’re actually in a Viking mess hall. I just think they should have more kind of Viking type foods. Giant meats come to mind. You already sell turkey legs at your other parks so why not put a cool spin on them here? I know they have the wings here but it’s...
Read morethis was the best meal i had while at universal. incredible. someone in these reviews claimed the mediocre swedish meatballs at IKEA are better and i believe they should be locked up in a psych ward for evaluation. i don't really like meatballs in general. IKEA swedish meatballs are gross. italian meatballs are gross. these ones, however? the only meatball dish i have ever completely finished. you have turned me into a meatball connoisseur in one sitting. i will now compare every meatball dish i have in the future to this one. it was so delicious it almost makes me want to get in touch with my distantly nordic ancestry. i feel honoured to have eaten...
