Tequila Sunrise Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Oakland Park

ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I have ever received at any restaurant. If you have a server named Sindy, you will have the worst service and she will make excuses the whole time as to why it's not her fault. I RECOMMEND ASKING FOR A NEW SERVER.

We were a table of 4 and when the food came, 3 of the 4 people in our party received our food. It took 10 mins for Sindy to come up to realize she forgot to put the 4ths order in. After another 10 mins we received the food. Everyone else was almost done and I hadn't even started yet. Another 10 mins go by we wave Sindy down and she makes the excuse that since I ordered the fajitas, it takes an extra 20 mins to cook so the other food had to be sent out first so it doesnt get cold. WHAT A LOAD OF BS! After that sorry excuse, I told her that the food runner said they were taking care of food and she said "oh I never was told that" and just walked away furious. We still needed refills and other items that were not brought.

On top of all this we witnessed last night Sindy over serve a group of eight individuals that were right next to us. The whole time we were attempting to get her attention to get refills and to get more all you can eat, but she couldnt care about us. I watched Sindy give one individual THREE Fish bowls and a couple of beers. Every person at that table was over-served, were extremely loud and rude.

My family of 5 and 2 grandparents are here tonight. Travelling with a family or group that size is never easy, and is made more difficult with smaller children. But this place made it easy. They were quick with menus, and brought complimentary chips and salsa to the table - which kept my young ones entertained long enough for me to enjoy one of their house Margheritas (great!). They also brought over cups with water, which my 5 year old immediately knocked over. Our server was amazing, told us not to worry and had it cleaned up within minutes. They then took our order, offered us suggestions, were accommodating when my son wanted an extra taco and my mother in law wanted a freshly made veggie burrito. The food was fast, tasty, fresh and the entire experience positive. It's clear this place does it well, as many know it well. It was busy on arrival (happy hour) so I'm glad we made a reservation, and as we left it was getting busier so clearly it's not only happy hour bringing people in. A special acknowledgement to our server who clearly understood what it means to be a parent taking kids out for dinner, as he went above and beyond. Would gladly return next time...

I really like this place or I might have given them less than 3 stars for service. I did a party here and although the function was wonderful, the food was amazing, I really feel the person working with me to plan dropped the ball. They never called me to confirm the party or the amount of people. I tried to call to talk to Chris a couple times and was told that he was not available. I was booking the party for 25 people. They put me down for 40. Then my daughter got there early to decorate, they didn't even have it written down that it was going to be a buffet, which I had talked to Chris about IN PERSON. I told the girl that I talked to on the phone 25 people (But clearly she missed that) I called afterwards and talked to Cody, the manager, who was gonna talk to Chris and the owner. I didn't hear back from either one of them. I really, really like this business but I am upset at how they handled the situation. So just a WARNING if you're going to do a function, Make sure that whatever you're telling them they are actually listening!!!!!!!
