We were very sceptical about this place but we both decided to take a chance to try some authentic cuisine in our area. The parking lot was empty but when we went inside, there were two female workers, probably a male cook in the back and the bar had about 6 males talking and drinking Coronas. We often like to explore different restaurants as our weekly date night but this restaurant was a major disappointment. First of all, the music was way to loud for the waitress to hear our order, there were 2 menus and both menus did not match with one another. We both ordered the fried pork, rice and beans. My side order was sweet plantains and my my wife's side order was fried plantains. The waitress placed pried chips with salsa on the table but the salsa was watered down. When our food arrived, the portions were decent but the plate was too big. There were about 3-4 inches of space between each food. The fried pork had runny sauce all over the plate. We both said our grace and started with the fried pork. The fried pork was hard as a rock and extremely salty. The rice and beans was good but the best park of our meal was the glass of water with lime. My wife suffered from migraines when she eats salty food. The waitress came back to the table and asked if everything was ok and I told her about the saltiness and hardness of the fried pork. All she said was sorry and walked away. We had to drink our glass of water to wash away the saltiness of the pork. The waitress never replenished our water and only came back with the check. There was no Management in site, just the 2 waitress. We came to the conclusion that the pork was reheated from earlier and put in a sauce to soften it up. If we are paying full or half price for any meal then it should be made fresh to order and not reheated. This place lack of customer service and training for their staff to deal with situations such as this. We don't blame the waitress but we do blame Management or the owner. Whenever food service is involved, then there is a certain standard a company should take to make sure the quality of the food is up to par, staff is trained, and upper management should be present at all times. This place doesn't deserve a 1...
Read moreNot only are the tacos and burritos bland and completely unappetizing, but the prices are downright absurd. I specifically chose shrimp for my burrito, and nowhere on the menu was there any mention of an extra $6 charge. It felt deliberately sneaky and dishonest for them to tack on this hidden fee without any warning. To make matters worse, our final bill was higher than expected, this was in addition to the surprise shrimp charge, the waitress couldn’t or wouldn’t provide a proper breakdown of the charges. Instead, she hovered at our table, when we were signing the bill, even though we were the only customers there, making us feel pressured to tip. We ended up giving a standard 15% tip, which she absolutely did not deserve. My wife immediately vowed never to return to this deceitful, overcharging establishment, and I couldn’t agree more. The fact that we were the only ones there during dinner time speaks volumes. This place is shady and deserves to go out of business. Avoid it at all costs.
Response: This should have been clear from the start, and it’s unacceptable that we even need to bring these issues up. Our trust was broken during our first visit, and we have zero confidence in your ability to resolve this. We won’t be returning, nor will we waste any more time...
Read moreMy husband and I had planned a date today to eat here. We were greeted with two sweet waitresses. I ordered a steak gordita and 4 fried tacos. I get my food and the four fried tacos were good but the Gordita was made with chicken. It was so obvious it was white meat and it taste like chicken, so I asked the waitress what was the meat you told the chef for my Gordita she said “de carne” meaning (steak). I show her the meat and explain this meat is white and it taste like chicken. She said let me ask the chef what is going on, then she returns and it explains to me there steak is white like chicken. I never felt so undermined in my life at a restaurant not even McDonald’s would pull this type of stuff. So she walks away and has the nerve to ask me if I want a steak Gordita? Uhhhhh no because that should have been the first thing that came out of her mouth when I showed her it was chicken and not a steak Gordita. After all was said and done we were given a receipt with a 20% service fee added to our bill. Are you kidding me? I would critique the restaurant as a whole but I don’t want to hit below the belt, but I will never come back to eat here again. Very...
