Very fun, clean, comfy, and friendly neighborhood taqueria. No lard in the beans.
I ordered the super wet burrito, with refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, and covered in mole/enchilada sauce (ie, "wet"). (Fyi: Be careful when transporting wet burritos, and keep it as level as possible, or it will leak in the bag). The burrito was only $7.60, and decent sized. The beans and rice are 4 out of 5 stars for me. I went there about 5:30 on monday and there was plenty of convenient parking. The service was very quick in taking my order and handing me my bagged order to go. There was one guy ordering in front of me, of whom a woman was helping, and, even tho I was the only person in line, a guy came up to the front and asked if he could take my order, (even tho I would've only had to wait another minute for the guy in front of me, but he took the initiative anyway, and spared me any wait at all). He was quite friendly. I even heard him asking another customer how he was and about a house that he (the customer) was preparing to purchase soon.
Good job with everything to the crew and at the Chile Jalapeno Taqueria👍. I can't hand out 5☆'s on a single visit, but will edit rating based upon my future visits. 1st time there and I was impressed. I'll be...
Read moreI would classify this as a classic bean in rice palace. It's your basic Mexican that you would get at any Mexican joint. However the food lacked salt and flavor.
I asked him to chop up the shrimp for my shrimp burrito. It was delivered with whole shrimp inside I had to send it back and the person at the counter insisted that they told the chef to chop the shrimp up. Obviously something is wrong in the kitchen or the person taking my order was not paying attention or this would have been done easily. He said he spent a lot of time talking to us about working out instead of taking our order. Although he was very nice there was obviously something going on with him that day and he was not very attentive. I would say I would give it another try but I have been here in the past and it has similar flavorless food. But they must be doing something right since they're still open after...
Read moreI walked in, sort of enjoying the gaudy yellow paint scheme, and noticed I was welcomed by two different servers right away. Then I noticed there was a place outside in the back, so decided to eat there with my wife. She, and I apologize for this, likes her beef well done. So, she did not tell them and it came red inside. The server was at another table, when my wife said, ooo, I cannot eat this. The server grabbed another clean plate, and kind of jumped into view quickly, told her he'd get it cooked done and would bring it back which meant in this case about 4 minutes, time for me to enjoy the great flavor of a Chichen taco. I loved the food, and the service and the outdoor tables shielded by wooden walls so no...
