Coming into the restaurant the host was quite friendly and got us seated right away. We sat next to people who had just been seated too. We had to wait quite a while for our food as people came in and out to pick up their orders my husband and I still sat there waiting with our baby. We got the drinks we ordered (but no water which he had to ask for numerous times).the people seated next to us seem to have received their food and water expeditiously while we were kept being told to just wait a few minutes which turned into an hour. At first we didn’t mind since the host was so welcoming. People coming in to pick up their orders were served first. The host had a friend eating there too, he brought us the wrong order and then removed it from our table and said “oh this is my friend’s order”. His friend arrived well after us. We had to again ask for water of which the host brought but then told us to wait once again. We were being lenient but after being brought the wrong food and not being served after people who arrived after us were served we just decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The service was almost good but the host ruined it. I was looking forward to the food but am now discouraged to even go there in the future. I hope whoever turns out going there gets treated better than me and my little family...
Read moreI’ve lived in Adam’s Point for 10 years and have eaten at this restaurant for almost as long. Pre-COVID the service was friendly, usually relatively fast, and the food tasted good. During COVID, the service and speed are still good but the quality has been hit or miss. Some dishes tasted flat, while others were out of proportion (like a noodle soup that has more onions than actual noodles). But what I really wish is that take out / delivery orders would stop using the plastic containers. Putting piping hot food and liquids into plastic containers leeches toxic chemicals into the food. I would happily pay more for the waxed paper containers to be used instead. They deliver orders in plastic bags that say they are reusable, but who really reuses them? It would be better for the environment to use compostable bags. Lastly, they don’t use any organic meats. And they also use canola oil which is high in the the bad Omega 6 fatty acids, genetically modified and negatively impacts brain health. Better options would be olive, avocado or coconut oil. I limit my visits as a result of it not being the most healthy place to eat (for me or for the planet), but if they would offer higher quality meats/oils/food packaging i would eat there all the time and suspect others would go out of their way to eat there...
Read moreIf you want that flavor of coconuts and fish sauce and aren't picky then this is the... only place this side of Grand Ave. They have the flavor but the dishes lacked attention to ingredients and quantity that it left me almost satisfied and a little let down. Papaya salad was chewy and came with (2) shrimp morsel, drenched in dressing. Yellow curry lacked protein but was heavy on potatoes, and the pineapple fried rice... mediocre at best with again (2) pieces of pineapple and seasoned heavy with pepper. The fresh veggie rolls came with avocado pieces - I kid you not - that were rubbery enough that you could bend them almost 90 degrees. Three stars at best for the Thai flavor, service and convenience. They are not my first choice for Thai food...
