Astro Park Play Area — Attraction in Oakland

Astro Park was recently redone last year by a local community group and they did a great job. All new equipment, soft rubber flooring. there's a little bit of shade from trees, a play structure, and suitable for ages up to 10 at most I'd say. It's always busy, there's a lot of families in this area. There's a park bathroom nearby, water fountain, and library branch right across the street a short walk. In addition it's next to the Saturday Lakeshore Farmers market on one side, and on the other is lake Merritt where there are drum circles, and a beautiful lake to walk, including a nature center and another play area around the side not to mention...

This is a nice park for children. I like the soft turf. My 3 yr old grand child loves it; however, I only gave 4 stars because there is only 1 regular swing and the other few are toddler and baby swings. So if you have kids 5 and older, they might be disappointed if they dont...
