Grateful for Andrew who helped me out with tonightâs kava. For those of you who donât know, kava is a sacred plant to many people, used in ceremonies with the chiefs to dispel arguments. I enjoy kava because it connects me to the root of my existence, of all of our existencesâ it connects me to the ocean. I miss swimming in the ocean, kava running through my blood. If I could advise anything, go to Hawaii, get kava drunk, and swim in the biggest waves you can brave. Itâs a life changing experience. I hope everyone who comes here can learn a little bit about the people of the ocean. Along those lines, itâs best practice among many to dip your finger into the kava 3 times, and each time flick the kava droplet over each shoulder, and then in front of you. As far as Iâve been told itâs a way of honoring of those by your side, seen and unseen, and those in front of you, seen and unseen. Then, drink the whole shell (if itâs not too cold). Maururu...
Read moreI found this place while looking for coffee shops open in the area on a Sunday evening. Iâve heard of Kava but did not actually know what it was. I looked up what it was and decided to give it a try. The kavatender (Iâm guessing that he would be called) guided us through our first ceremonial bula. He was friendly, knowledgeable and had an all around warm personality. Kava has a distinct and bitter taste but you drink it for its effects and definitely not itâs taste. Itâs cool drinking this root out of a coconut shell. it out of the My tongue was numb and I started to feel relaxed, happy, social and wanted to be nicer to people. It was a light and refreshing high. The ambience was lovely as we were surrounded by beautiful plants. I look forward to trying their various kava cocktails, Yerba mate, hemp...
Read moreI've been twice now, first time was my first kava experience. The staff (and guests) were happy to walk me through a little education on kava and offer recommendations. Everyone was friendly, the staff was clearly knowledgeable and attentive. I'm not a big tea drinker so I very much appreciated the flavored kava options and the little serving of pineapple I got with my first drink.
Second visit I tried a flight of the in house kombucha, primarily the fruity ones. The kombucha was tasty, the serve was friendly and happy to chat about their process of refining flavors.
All in all a very pleasant and enjoyable experience, I plan to go back and would recommend to those looking to try kava or just find a chill place to hang out...
