Update: The business owner as listed on Yelp Odain M for this restaurant responded both here and on yelp disputing my experience but I absolutely have zero interest in fabricating any experience, snd especially a food experience. Odain M then also posted a review if her/his own which is a conflict of issue and violates the review terms and conditions and gave herself/himself 5 stars. Odain M and Nalo’s Jamerican Soul…DO BETTER!
The good: Portion size is legit fir both entrees and sides.
The bad: Called ahead of ordering as I wanted to ensure that special instructions for extra gravy on everything would be honored, and spoke with a gentleman who may have been the owner. Unfortunately, when I received my delivery those agreed upon instructions were definitely not honored. I then called the restaurant and spoke with the same gentleman and shared I had spoke with him earlier and they did not deliver as promised. His first response was if I wanted to come to them and pick up the gravy, to which I politely declined, them he said he could make things right the next time, to which I politely declined again, and then finally he offered to have someone re-deliver the missed items. I responded that it’s not okay because my food would be cold by the time they arrived, because my food would be cold by the time they arrived, but I did accept the offer to deliver the gravy that you can clearly see was not added to all if the entrees and sides nor do you see a side container of gravy that was also requested and agreed to. This was not the experience I paid over $55 for. Additionally, he never even offered up anything complimentary for the inconvenience. Not a good look!
The oxtails, brown stew red snapper (no stew gravy present), steam vegetables, rice & peas all lacked flavor for my palate and I had to add mad salt to each dish.
Unfortunately as a result of this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend Nalo’s...
Read moreI recently dined at Nalo's Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! The highlight of my meal was the oxtail, which was absolutely incredible. The meat was so tender it practically melted off the bone, and the rich, savory flavors were perfectly balanced. You could taste the care that went into slow-cooking this dish to perfection. The seasoning was spot on, with just the right amount of spice and depth of flavor that left me craving more with every bite. Paired with their delicious sides, it was truly a comforting and satisfying meal.
The ambiance was cozy, and the staff made me feel right at home with their friendly and attentive service. If you're looking for authentic, mouthwatering oxtail, Nalo's is the place to go. Highly...
Read moreWe’ve know the owner of this restaurant for a few years - prior to Odain starting this restaurant he had mentioned it to us and told us about his vision and intention.
First time we attended his restaurant and tried his ox tail, it blew us away. Juicy meat, melts in your mouth and good amount of space.
2nd time we tried his lamb which was super delicious and little too spicy but we were warned prior to our order.
Three side and a the main is $30 dollar which is not cheap but it’s also portioned for two meals.
We love his food and we attend some of the street events such as first Friday and other events to support him.
We’re not biased with our review because we know him, if we didn’t like his food we wouldn’t go back nor would we write...
