I have written reviews for Shangri-La before but I feel it’s time to write another one. I have been eating here for at least 25 years. It may have been named something else back in the day but it’s always been the same. Vegan, macrobiotic, local, etc. In 25 years and probably 1000 meals, I have never had anything but amazing. It doesn’t matter if you are a carnivore, omnivore, herbivore, the food here is Magical and medicinal. I’ve always made it a habit to stop in if I’m feeling depleted, if I just got back from a big weekend, we’re recovering from illness… However in recent years I was diagnosed with long Covid and my health has really taken a turn for the worse. I have episodes that hit me out of nowhere in which I have to stay in bed for three or four days at a time. I can say with 100% confidence, when I’m ready to eat again as soon as I eat a meal from Shangri la, The healing begins. I know that if I eat one of their meals the next day I’m going to wake up feeling like myself again. I know the food is extremely nutritious but I think it’s more than this I think they put love into it. I could never come up with enough good words to say about this place. It has literally been a lifesaver. I try to tell all my friends about it. This is a business that is an anomaly in our world. Not only of the highest integrity, I truly believe that they pour Love into their nutritional food because it has healed me during my hard times 100% of the time without fail. No words could ever thank you. I am a diehard faithful customer for 25 years now nothing but exquisite experiences. I love you guys so much. I don’t know what I would do without you to be honest...

It was my first time dining here on Monday night. I walked into a quaint little space with a chalk board that had about 5 different menu items not including sides or desert or drinks. I sat, a man approached me told me to grab tea. And as I read the board I thought, I couldn't possibly order all of it so instead I choose one the collard greens with a brown mushroom sauce.
The man asked do I want small or full? I was so confused but being that I was starving I said full!!
Next thing about 3 minutes later, out comes a warm tasty mung bean ginger soup I thought to myself, when did I order this? Hmmm....they must like me so I ate it, and said what a nice gesture! But then out came a plate with an amazing array of five beautifully served foods...I said to myself I didn't order all of this, did I? Then it all made sense.... The five menu items is what they serve only and all together on one full plate. And when you order "a full" size it comes with theee soup!!
Imagine that....Collards, roasted squash, garlic onion garbanzo, fresh salad with brown rice all on one amazing plate!!!
It's like having a thanksgiving(minus the turkey)dinner every night!!
I walked out with another full order and two slices of fresh strawberry GF pie; to go so that I could share with the hubby...(or...
Read moreIf you're looking for a simple place that provides a simple food(something light and spiritual), then this is the place to go. If you have been to one of those zen meditation centers, the food served here is something like that. So It is definitely not one of those fancy dine-in restaurants. The unique thing about this restaurant is that "only one item in the menu". You can order medium or full size of that one item. Every day is going to be a different item. On The day we visited, this was the menu. Lentil soup - simple. Brown basmati rice. -- simple Kidney beans -- simple Squash cooked -- cooked lightly 2Salads. -- Tea
Medium Quantity was sufficient for dinner for 1 person. Everything was fresh.
Instead of providing 2 vegetable salads, they could have provided 1 vegetable salad and 1 fruit salad which would have made everything colorful. They still use minute amounts of onion and garlic. Hope they will remove onion and garlic all together.
This type of meals are good for weekdays where you would want to eat something light at an...
