I've been here probably 10 times and I'm sure that number will only go up. The servers now recognize me at the front lol. One of my Emeryville faves!
I've had take out and dined in and it's really good both ways. They package the takeout very thoughtfully, especially if you have spillable soups or other dishes in the bag.
The atmosphere inside is very chill but good for families, friends, etc. I always just eat on my own. They have anime playing on the TVs, usually with captions so you still know what's going on. Service is super nice.
I'm a simple roll type of person so I'm fond of the salmon roll and the spicy tuna. Good cuts, pretty decent price, always yummy.
Miso soup is good but I usually opt for the vegetable tempura.
Grilled squid is yummy but not for everyone.
Fried oysters are crisp and I like them better with just a drizzle of lemon rather than dipped in the sauce.
The sesame balls for dessert are soooo good and always leave me stuffed.
Truly a great place and now they have a revolving sushi bar over the weekends (Fri-Sun) so I'm definitely going back to...
Read moreEasily one of the BEST Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. They had so many sushi roll options, as well as other options for those that don’t like/cant have fish! they also have plenty of vegetarian options. Unfortunately i’m not from the area, cuz other wise i’d definitely be in there once a week. And for my anime fans, they have different animes playing on the TVs! (One Piece and Death Note when i was in there) The food was literally incredible, and cooked to a perfect temperature. I got the 2 item bento, and got the chicken teriyaki and California roll. the bento box also comes with rice, edamame, miso soup, and a salad, as well as a cup of ice cream for dessert which appeared to be a sort of mochi, but instead of the rice dough shell on the outside, it was blended into the ice cream to give it a nice sticky chewy texture. The service was also excellent and very nice! Overall some of the best food i have ever had, and will definitely be going back whenever i’m...
Read moreThe place is clean, and service is great. The number of roll options is vast and they are happy to customize anything. They have good sake options at reasonable prices. This is our go to spot for sushi. The only time we go anywhere else is to check out a new spot or meet friends who invite us elsewhere, but we always come back to here.
Plenty of space for large parties. We have had parties of 20 show up without a reservation and they killed it for us. At the same time, we often stop by with just the two of us, grab a quick roll, beer and hot sake and it's perfect. The management always makes a point to talk to every customer, and you really feel taken care of like you should at a good mom and pop restaurant.
On top of that they have multiple tv sets always playing various Hiyao Miyazaki anime films. Good music on the stereo. What more can you ask for in a great sushi spot?
Fyi, free private parking lot entrance...
