First time having Yemeni food. This is definitely a unique experience!
This restaurant doesn't shy away from offering unabashedly authentic dishes, even if I suspect they would intimidate many Americans.
The breakfast dish pictured is eaten using hands. The flavor combination is somewhat similar to other Middle Eastern countries, but in my experience, it's sufficiently distinct to pique my curiosity. The tea is heavily cardamom flavored.
Looking at the menu, they have many liver based dishes. I am a little afraid to try them because I'm not a big fan of liver flavors, but it seems to pop up in the menu often, and it seems to be one of their staples? It's probably worth a try. Maybe they have mastered it?
The other dishes on the menu also look very interesting and distinct. They are not something you see in most restaurants. In fact, I cannot imagine more than a sparse handful of places across the entire US where you can find this selection.
I would say if you want to try something new, this is the place.
The owner was very nice.
They have beautiful images from Yemen decorating the walls and play acapella Quran recitations in the background, so that combines with the different flavors to transport you elsewhere. It's almost as if I'm in another country.
This sense of exploration is what I value enormously, and I believe to be one of the great pleasures of dining.

Read moreAbsolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid This Place! Sheba Restaurant is the worst restaurant I have ever dealt with. They are completely unprofessional, rude, and outright scammers. Today, I ordered lunch through Uber Eats, only to receive a call from the restaurant asking me to cancel my order. As I was in the process of canceling, they marked the order as "picked up" and charged me for it! When I contacted Uber Eats support, they told me the restaurant claimed I had picked up my order, forcing me to go there in person. To make things even worse, when I arrived, the restaurant was closed with a sign saying they would reopen at 1:20 PM. This was beyond frustrating, a complete waste of my lunch break, and left me hungry and upset. I cannot stand such dishonest and unprofessional businesses, and I will make sure to tell all my friends, family, coworkers, and community to avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself the frustration and take your...
