The website says they open at 10:30 on Saturday, but was informed when I showed up that they didn't open until noon.
It's located in a really bad area, with absolutely zero parking.
Will not go back.
EDIT: The business went and edited their hours of operation after reading this review. Up until a few hours ago, 10:30 am was the posted opening time for Saturday.
Their response to this review is all you need to know about how much they don't care about their potential customers and how you can expect to be treated if you visit there.
Was disappointed after seeing them featured on 'Check Please, Bay Area'. As a back and forth resident of Louisiana, where you can find a dozen great BBQ places for every one in the Bay Area, was very disappointed. I was really looking forward to munching down, especially after I'd driven an hour to get there.
And I know what a lousy neighborhood is like. Three of the top 10 most dangerous cities in America are in Louisiana, but the neighborhood this place is in is right up there. It's really bad.
Save yourself some trouble and just go to Hot Boys. They won't give you...
Read moreOk so BOOM, I was searching for places to eat around the area I recently moved too “West Oakland.” I came upon this bbq spot and of course I had to check out the reviews lol it’s only right! Anyways, reviews seemed pretty cool for me to say F-it im going to walk there and order 😬 So I went to this hole in a wall unique bbq place. The guy at the counter was super nice and friendly! I waited maybe 5min before my order came out. LET ME TELL YOU THAT THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST RIBS AND BRISKET I’ve had thus far!! Literally fall off the bone!! This made my taste buds so happy! They also give you two sides- I got the beans (HELLA BOMB) & also Mac n cheese wasn’t that great, it was a too bland for me (in my opinion) But I really don’t care about that, THE MEAT was soooooo good and now I’m happy and full!! Can’t wait to come back🥹 yay!! 9/10
Ps: for the Mac & cheese may I suggest instead of using out of the box cheese use: milk, cheese , butter, paprika, salt, and pepper! TRUST MEEEE 😉 this place will be a SOLID 10/10 once the Mac & cheese is...
Read moreThis deli is quite a little charmer in West Oakland it looks a little grungy fits the neighborhood clientele there’s a homeless encampment next-door along with the shelter but I still feel safe during the day hours to go into the Covid patio safe and order up their combo plate of ribs and brisket for about $17 it is excellent.
The menu is full of barbecue favorites the brisket sandwich a pork pulled there is no chicken on the menu at least the one I was handed also there is no potato dishes like french fries or baked potatoes but there is an amazing slaw as one of their side dishes and a wonderful a mac & cheese that helps build the sizzle to the barbecue magic of this cool neighborhood barbecue hang out.
As with any barbecue hamlet it is a bit expensive good meat you pay good for the ribs and the brisket for separate plates average around $12-$15 and the combo plate can go up as much as $27 but savor that with one of their favorite local beers and you will really get your bang for your buck at this...
