We went in for my sister's Bachelorette party. It wasn't extremely busy however we waited to be served we ordered our drinks and explained who was on which check to begin with. Drink refills were extremely slow. However the appetizer came out hot and quick crab dip which was great. However an hour goes by no food shortly after someone brings over a tray of food and sits two on the table one was something we had ordered an started eating. We realized the rest isn't ours. She proceeded to take it to another table we watched it happen. After almost 2 hours our food comes out extremely cold no silverware no condiments I was missing my salad and another person was missing their coleslaw. We spoke up immediately and stated we'd just eat at this point we're hungry and had other plans. Our server said he'd get the Manager and apologized. The same person who brought the food to our table to someone else's proceeds to walk up 20 mins later stating "what's the problem you ate it " we didn't eat 50% of what was on the table out of 6 we stated yes we waited almost 2 hours and didn't want to wait any longer. And stated she brought food to the wrong table and served it elsewhere she got extremely defensive an said no I took it all back to the kitchen and left an stayed back there. She was no help at all. Understandably we said no we'd eat it at this point but they were fully aware when it was sat down the disappointment. Our server originally agreed to get the meals taken off and the salad that was missing and the coleslaw. But the Manager Morgan who was extremely unprofessional and rude and very loud refused. We just paid the bill to get out.
The food was bland and dry the best was the beer cheese (hot) and the crab dip.
The table was never cleaned so we sat out on the dirt table behind us that was dirty for over the 2 hrs we were there
Go at your own will but Morgan is a young unprofessional Manager who sat near the kitchen laughing.

We sat at 1:36 and we didn't get our nachos until 1:48.. they were completely dried out. But we were so hungry we had to eat them. We ordered salads and soups.. and rockfish bites. The rockfish bites came at the end of everybody's meal. It was 3:30 when we left.. All of our meals.were cold.. we had to cancel the soup and salads.. And when she came back around at the very end she asked if everything was all right.. and we had a few complaints. And her response was " sorry I have other places to be" .. now I've been in the service industry for 15+ years.. and someone should have covered her section.. had to go to the bar for drinks.. .. And she was not remorseful at all... "If you want to speak with a manager, go ahead." She just had an awful attitude.. I changed my 5 star review to a 1 because of this experience. Like I said.. as a server, I understand things happen.. you get behind.. but no one helped out.. no one checked on us.. very upset.. we love the turtle.. but won't be back. We also had to remind her to remove several items from our bill... I never leave a negative review.. but this was the worst dining experience...
Read moreWe were traveling through and decided to eat here because we are familiar with (and love) the Green Turtle in Morgantown. Unfortunately families are not as welcomed in Deep Creek as they are in Morgantown. We never felt welcomed and the service proved it. We were told by the server and bartender (separately) that they rarely served children. Our server also told us he wasn't familiar with the Children's menu. He didn't write our order down (although he told us he wasn't familiar with parts of the menu) and my salad came out with my entree AND my burger came out overcooked and WITH items I asked to be left OFF of the sandwich. We have small children and couldn't wait for a re-cook so I removed the items from my sandwich and packaged my salad to go. We waited and waited for our server to return to pay the check although I asked for the check early on - with the kids we like to pay and not be 'held hostage' to pay our bill. We are both former food service industry and both have fine dining and management experience. With that said, I understand a bad shift. It happens.
